Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the beer garden, praised for its valley views, birdsong and tables with waitress service, and described as dog-friendly in the tap room and outside, with treats and water for dogs. Food comes close behind: the chips are called the best one reviewer has had anywhere, while others pick the club sandwich, the roast dinner, the chicken goujons, the rib eye steak and the Eton Mess cheesecake. A reviewer also notes the staff were clued up on allergens, and a Sunday lunch diner calls the pub spotless. The recurring complaint is slow service, with one reviewer mentioning a very slow Sunday afternoon and another a slow table despite pleasant staff. One midweek reviewer found the menu short on meat options and overpriced, singling out a brisket suet with hardly a spoonful of meat. Another notes parking can be tricky. Several describe a warm welcome, and one mentions an open log fire inside.

“First time I have been here, and it will not be the last; what a lovely place. Had a 0% Guinness while waiting for the wife and friends, and had a little walk in between. All went back and had chips each...wow they were amazing, best I have ever had anywhere. Dog-friendly in the tap room and outside, treats and water everywhere for the dogs. The staff were amazing and very good; they attended to your every need. If you have a wheelchair, there is a ramp up into the beer garden; there are tables at the top, or a slight slope down to the grassed area, and waitress service is on hand. On the grassed area there are lots of tables, and also at the top there are some nice private cubby holes to sit in. It has some nice walks around there and when you are sat outside there are some nice views. All in all it was brilliant what a find.”

“This hidden little gem in Pudsey is fantastic lovely beer garden and the interior is lovely. So me and wife booked for 2pm it was busy but missed the dinnertime rush. I had chicken goujons you are served with three a sweet chilli sauce and a side of salad. The goujons were to die for the batter was lovely and light wife had home made creamy garlic mushrooms and three cuts of chibbatta bread and butter. She admitted there was a lot of mushrooms but was lovely. I then had a Rib eye steak that came with chips, onion rings, tomatoes on a vine, and a side dish of garden peas and ordered a peppercorn sauce. It was banging Steak was cooked spot on. Wife had the sirloin but had a jacket potatoe, Onion rings, Vine tomatoes and salad she had her steak medium rare and she just melted by the taste she had the house BBQ sauce which was lovely and slightly unusual. My wife had a coke I had a Theakstone Best pint, overall experience was brilliant the service was a bit slow don't know if they were short staffed. But the staff was well presented and pleasant. The bill came in at £84 which we don't mind paying when the food is spot on and believe you will not be disappointed we will certainly be back again.”

“Great location and views, good service and relaxing atmosphere during a week day. Unfortunately disappointed by the food menu that lacks meat options and is overpriced.. Avoid the Brisket Suet with hardly a table spoonful of blended meat mixed with celery and also possibly the odd 'tiny chipolata sausage traditional meal ??' which also appears to be a cost cutting and overcharging exercise..”
