About The Greyhound
On Tong Ln in Bradford, The Greyhound is a pub set in a 16th-century inn, with a restaurant alongside the bar. Hand-pulled beers line the bar, including Tetleys and other local brews, and cocktails are served too. The kitchen turns out pub food such as steak and ale pie and sausage and mash with gravy, with triple cooked chips on the side. Lemon posset and Eton mess cover the dessert side, and a dish is on offer each day. The separate bar area has plenty of seating for drinkers. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the steak and ale pie and the sausage and mash, with the gravy called out as especially good. One diner praised the pie's pastry and the bone marrow alongside it, while another table rated the triple cooked chips highly. Close behind come the roasted cauliflower and leaf bhaji, the lemon posset and Eton mess, and a Sunday beef lunch with a pint of ale. Many credit new owners and a new chef for a warm welcome and an improved menu, and several mention hand pulled local beers, good value and a daily special. Not everyone agrees on the food menu: one reviewer finds it pricey, and another says the sandwich menu used to be better. The sharpest complaint comes from a long-time regular who waited over 45 minutes for a burger, then on a second visit sat 35 minutes while staff chatted at the bar, and left without eating. Another group, meanwhile, was given a free dessert on a Monday.

“Amazing steak pie, bone marrow was a great bonus and amazing pastry. As good as I’ve ever had. Rest of the table had triple cooked chips which were rated highly, would have tried one if any were left!”

“Had 2 bad food experiences in a row a massive 7 years ago and didn't go back. Tried it this week and WHAT A LOVELY DIFFERENCE. The new landlord and landlady are lovely and very welcoming. They told us the chef is new too, and you can taste the improvement. Only slight criticism would be that the sandwich menu definitely used to be better. Having said that it certainly wouldn't put us off going again, and we fully intend to do so.”

“Best meal I’ve ever had in a pub! That’s no exaggeration from a normally fussy customer! Our first visit as working in the area, New owners since November, have created a friendly , welcoming and attentive atmosphere. We had steak and ale pie and sausage and mash. Beautifully presented , tasty and local produce. Can’t praise this place enough. An excellent find and hope our work brings us back. Also cater for the little ones and furry ones.”
