Customer Review Summary
Sunday lunch draws the most mentions, with the Sunday duo roast described as very filling and another reviewer calling the Sunday food okay. Close behind, the hunters chicken is called really nice, and one family says their kids finished both meals. Others describe food that arrived hot and tasty, and a few praise the welcoming staff, the fire, the fenced outdoor seating and the sport on the TVs. One regular says food, atmosphere and staff have improved since the old management left. The complaints carry real weight, though. Several describe long waits for food, with one bar worker covering a lunchtime shift, and a steak ordered rare came out well done. Another reviewer got cold, floppy chips and a burnt lasagna. Two Sunday diners were also told a discounted starter or dessert add-on would not apply once the main was ordered. The staff member was unsure of the rule, and both left without dessert.

“Large pub, large car park. Plenty of TV for sport or the news.Had Sunday duo roast which was very filling. Add a starter or dessert to your main meal for £3. Had the main meal, went to order dessert and was told it would be full price. Pointed out the menu does not say we had to order main and dessert at the same time and the staff member said they didn't know if we had to order at the same time either so we left the dessert.”

“Sunday lunch food was okay. Went to have a dessert and was given the full price. Advised the dessert must have had to have been ordered at the same time but the girl wasn't sure. I was never asked did I want a starter or dessert so very unimpressed at being told it would be over £13 and not £6. She had no interest in looking to help in any way despite the fact she had no idea. Will not be back. Such a shame.”
