About Carters Arms

Football draws the room at Carters Arms, a pub on Glovers Brow in Liverpool, where matches run on the TVs through Sky Sports and BT Sport. Drinks come by the pint and by the bottle, with a slice of lime offered alongside bottled lager. The crowd leans towards locals and regulars, though the bar serves people from outside the area just as readily. No booking is taken, so drinkers arrive and order at the bar, and the doors open daily. A step-free entrance and on-site parking that includes bays for disabled drivers make the pub workable for visitors with mobility needs. Outdoor seating gives the option of drinking in the open air, and dogs are welcome to come in with their owners. Toilet facilities are on site.

Customer Review Summary

Football drives most visits, with reviewers describing a local crowd gathering to watch matches on Sky Sports and BT, and a couple of visitors from out of the area saying they still felt welcome. Close behind is the price of a round, repeatedly called cheap or reasonable, with one drinker singling out a good pint of Guinness and another settling for a bottle of Corona with a slice of lime when their usual lager wasn't stocked. Friendly staff and welcoming hosts come up often, as do the traditional style, the pub garden and the fact that no food is served. The sharpest dissent comes from a single reviewer who describes a flat, off-tasting pint and limes kept in soda water, questions how often the beer and cider lines are cleaned, and reports being ill the next day. Others grumble at the cost of a soft drink and the lack of free WiFi. One returning drinker notes the mouldy walls they remembered are gone and the place newly decorated.
