About The William Morris
The William Morris is a Wetherspoons pub in Oxford at 59a Between Towns Rd, open daily. Large windows and a modern interior set the room, and the pub welcomes families with children. The bar pours guest ales alongside the chain's usual menu of food and drinks, and the kitchen turns out pizza, including a spicy meat feast. Food deals run on the menu as well. Groups can gather here, though the room can get loud when a big party is in.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often describe a standard Wetherspoons offer of good value food and drink, and a few single out the fish and chips for its well-cooked batter and chips, though that reviewer found the peas runny and wanted more chips. Others mention hot, well-prepared food during a busy period, friendly staff, a table cleaned on arrival and plenty of beers during a festival. A crumble and custard arrived lukewarm after a wait, and one visitor found the interior dark. The negatives carry real weight. Several mention noisy groups, dirty tables or toilets and rude or unsmiling service. One reviewer reports a man followed her in and sat beside her, and that staff did not properly acknowledge her report. Another says a spicy meat feast pizza tasted peculiar and that they were sick later that afternoon. A third describes a burnt burger with slimy garnish and garlic bread like a frisbee, and was refunded for the pizza after complaining.

“Rude staff. Food hit and miss. Can get very loud. Big groups of people. Beggars come in. Dirty toilets and tables. Dingy place. Worst wetherspoons”

“Second time I have visited in the last ten years I personally think it is a little bit dark inside but otherwise it is a JD Witherspoon and what you expect from this pub chain which is great priced food and drinks”

“I went to Wetherspoons today for breakfast and had a really uncomfortable experience. A man followed me from outside into the restaurant, then tried to pretend he was sitting with me while ordering at the till. When the staff member asked for his table number, he pointed at me and said, “I’m with that lady.” I covered my table number because I immediately felt uncomfortable. The whole place was basically empty, yet he then asked to sit next to me. After I told him I was using the table, he still chose to sit right beside me, which forced me to move seats completely. What annoyed me the most was the staff response. When I went to order my food, I reported what had happened, and the staff member didn’t even acknowledge it properly. No “are you okay?”, no “I’ll keep an eye on it,” nothing. They just took my order and carried on like it was normal. As a young woman sitting alone, that situation was uncomfortable and intimidating, and the lack of concern from staff made it worse.”

“Burnt burger with questionable garnish that looked slimy and stuck into the bun. Pizza? Couldn’t even call it pizza! Garlic bread could be used as a frisby. Complained about the food quality and recorded £3.44 refunded for the pizza…..”

“This was a brilliant pub for drinking, with a multicoloured interior of white and blue! The counter is well presented, plenty of different beers available during the festival and cleanliness was solid.”
