Customer Review Summary
The Sunday roast draws the most praise, with reviewers singling out the roast beef and a beef and pork roast good enough that one diner would return for that alone. Close behind are the garlic dough balls, chili cheese bits, and a burger with chips described as very good, all served quickly. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and helpful, and dogs are described as well catered for. A coeliac diner found most of the menu gluten free or easily swapped, and was reassured about a separate kitchen area. The views over the water from the terrace and beer garden come up often. The main complaint comes from one lunch where the chicken was dry and in thin strips. A request to add halloumi to a chicken salad was refused, and the salad arrived with tomatoes and onions not listed on the menu and no parmesan, leaving the reviewer calling the menu descriptions vague. One reviewer found the starter mushrooms slightly overcooked. Boaters mention staff coming out to help them moor stern on at the river.

“Had the best beef and pork roast I have had out for years today, as did a freind! And I would definitely come back just for that. Although some one else in our group had chicken. Which was apparently a bit dry. Also my partner asked for chicken Caesar, with halloumi as a paid extra, and was told, it was not possible. Even though it was already on the menu as the alternative to chicken. Also asked for no cucumber or anchovies on the Caesar which was fine. But when it arrived, there was tomatoes and onions, which was not stated on the menu. And not a common thing on a Caesar so wasn't expecting them, or would have asked to take those of as well. There was also no parmesan. And the chicken looked really unappetising too, was in dry thin strips. Felt a bit tight. Think the menu needs to be more specific, as it's descriptions are fairly vague in places. Or stick to what is the traditional way if doing something. I honestly would have given 5 stars. I had a really lovely lunch. Will definitely go back.”

“This place is awesome. We grew up going to the broads. After living in the States for 22yrs, moved to Norwich. Although I can't get to the pub as often as I'd like, this is a place we look forward to visiting. The staff seemed to go above and beyond for us, but we soon realized everybody is treated with this same friendly attitude. The food is superb and as for the dogs, well they were certainly catered for. Very pampered pooches, they love it too. Can't wait for our next trip.”

“Perfect spot for a Sunday Roast with a view! We had a fantastic time here yesterday! The ambience is absolutely lovely—we sat out on the terrace with a wonderful view overlooking the beer garden and the water, watching all the boats docked nearby. We came for the Sunday roast, and it did not disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was super friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout our visit. Highly recommend this pub for great food, excellent service, and a super relaxing vibe. We’ll definitely be back!”

“Fantastic menu for a Coeliac. My daughter was able to have pretty much anything off the menu that was already gluten free or could be made GF with some swaps. They reassured us that there was a separate area in the kitchen to prepare (music to a Coeliacs ears!) If we knew we would have eaten there more during our stay on The Broads. Super friendly staff, quick service amd dog friendly too.”

“The best pub we visited bar none.... Service, landlady, atmosphere, dog friendly, family friendly and the views to the broads and beyond were just fab.... We only had drinks and arrived with 8 minutes to go before food stopped being cooked so we gave it a miss. Everything going for it.... A cracking pub.”
