  “Very relaxing place to have a drink, lovely garden area nice beer. Would most recommend here, and it has a large free carpark staff very friendly Today tried something off the food menu, picked fish and chips awesome huge piece of cod lovely salad and skins on chips highly recommended. Sat outside lovely”

  “Great food, service is excellent! There was 45 in our group! There was no problems they handled our number well! My lunch was Roast Turkey with loads of vegetables and all the trimmings! Desert was Chocolate cake and Icecream. Included tea / coffee for 19 pluse 3:25 for sugar free lemonade and lime!”

  “Living in Thorpe, my family and I have enjoyed every single visit to this lovely pub! Parking is so easy! The surrounding outdoor seating is excellent! The service is impeccable.Most of all, the FOOD is delicious and well prepared by the resident chef ( of 11 years!) The menue is extensive, the portions are massive! plenty of vegetarian & vegan choices. Ian & his team always give me a warm welcome! Well done Ian! highly recommended!”

  “A massive thank you to Sasha and the team for organising my Husbands surprise Birthday and Retirement party. From organising the event to the actual night, Sasha was brilliant, dealing with everything for me! Super friendly, super lovely, i cant thank her enough! The room was perfect and looked so lovely. Shout out to the barman who worked so hard serving us all night. The food for the buffet was outstanding and plentiful, with so many guests commenting. Thank you Thorpe Cottage! You are all truly amazing Xx”

  “Very welcoming staff. Food this time was very tasty, however veggies were served separately with my cottage pie, this time it was a whole roasted carrot and a tiny broccoli spear. So I dropped 1 star as i'd had a lot more veg last time. Id still come back as everyone's meals looked awesome and plentiful.”

  “First night in Norfolk and we ate here! There was a wedding party so we thought we would not be lucky enough to get a table, however the wedding was in a different area of the pub and we were surprised that you could not hear anything from this. We sat in the restaurant area and had a really delicious meal. I had loaded fries thinking this would be a good choice for a small appetite, oh how wrong I was. Portions are HUGE no matter what you go for but really delicious! And the lovely lady packed mine up for me so I didn’t waste any! My husband recommends the chilli says it’s one of the best he’s had and I agree as I had it on my fries!! My son ordered a double portion of chips as where we are from you don’t normally get many 😂. If we come back to Norfolk this will be another one we will return to!!”

  “We went here today for lunch. Never been before but were really impressed by the food and the service which was outstanding. Friday lunchtime and the pub was pretty full. We weren't quite sure of where to sit and a young fella came over, found us a table and brought some menus. All the serving staff were young, friendly and really smartly dressed. The pub was warm and welcoming and it's easy to see why it's so busy. We both ordered the steak and kidney suet pudding which was delicious, served with good veg and very hot. Good selection of real ale. An excellently managed local pub.”

  “First it's been a long time coming leaving this review due covid and a family death, so we apologise for that. The Cottage were simply amazing when we had our wedding function here in July. They were so accommodating, helpful and professional. The food was amazing, it was so tasty, beautifully presented and there was plenty to go round. They assisted with finishing decorations, were there to help guests and just wonderful. They helped make our day so special, it was such a shame it went so quickly! We loved the fact they were so friendly and down to earth, special thanks to Lorraine and Ian for being such great hosts, and the other members of staff who were so helpful. We would recommend the Cottage.”

  “I think The Cottage is a great place for food, and a relaxing drink. Top notch 10/10. It's not a rock N roll kind of place, very much a family environment but good place for a evening out. It also has a function room that is available for HIRE. The staff our always friendly. There is a small play area for the children in the front beer garden.”
