  “My husband and I popped in here for a light lunch, having not been before, we were given a friendly welcome by a young lady called Dianna. Pub style food was very reasonably priced, great quality and good value for money. Venue was lovely n clean and well furnished with light background music at just a nice volume. Look forward to visiting again 😀”

  “Deanna did incredibly well to serve us so well both food, drink and entertainment wise all by herself! She made it seem like 10 people were on shift to serve all the customers with extra service than you’d usually expect! Deanna did especially well, that being said I always have a great experience at the bull in Hellesdon!”

  “Lovely pub/bar in and out. But rubbish food. !!! No fresh salads, one spoon portion for a kids meal.. come on!! overpriced junk. Perfect for a beer garden.. no food allowed to served.. thanks”

  “Booked a buffet for my son’s 18th birthday celebrations. Made the booking 5 weeks in advance and paid when booked. On the day, the buffet was 40 minutes late but the staff were apologetic and kept me updated. First 5 bowls of under cooked chips were put on the table, followed another 10 minutes later by some platters that were disgusting and inedible. Another 10 minutes later the pizzas were brought out which were the only edible food on the buffet. Whilst waiting for our buffet, the pub seemed to be prioritising customers in the garden ordering food on the day. I tried to talk to the duty manager about the awful food but the 3 members of staff working were so busy it did not seem like they had the time for me. I am not blaming the staff- they are very hard working and were under a lot of pressure as due to the sunny weather, the pub was busy. The 40 or so guests we had invited were starving and I had to apologise to them all for the revolting food. To top our experience off- any female was unable to use a toilet as they were all blocked with toilet water everywhere. A few of our guests left early to go home as they needed the toilet. This was unacceptable and a serious health and safety issue. We use this pub a lot as we live locally, and had another event last year which was perfect. We will never be eating in the Bull ever again due to the poor quality of the food. It seems the pub was very happy to take money for drinks from all our guests, but we’re not interested in providing quality food for a pre booked event. The management that actually own this pub should be ashamed for leaving the staff to work in such an environment- no wonder they have got through over 5 general managers in the time they have owned it! I would advise anyone considering eating in this pub to go elsewhere.”

  “Great pub to visit, i had the burger with onion rings and fries, it was really tasty. Staff were very attentive, friendly and polite. There is a pool table and dart board here, plenty to keep you entertained. Really good for the summer too with outside seating and a large TV. Thanks, will be visiting again.”

  “Had a fantastic roast lunch at this friendly local pub today. The meal was served piping hot with really good quality beef and a generous portion size — plenty on the plate and excellent value for money. The selection of vegetables was great as well, making it a proper traditional roast. The welcoming atmosphere made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be visiting regularly!”

  “Following a change of ownership, it was interesting to see what the experience would be. The food was good, the pub nice but it was let down by the slow service. We had the burgers which were really good. The open fire was an issue as it filled the pub with smoke and set off the fire alarm.”

  “Came here for a lunch date with my partner, we were served by Karyna, she was lovely and polite, food came fairly quickly, it was fairly quiet for a Monday, reasonably priced, would 100% recommend The Bull”

  “This pub looks recently refurbished. Free parking. The staff were reasonably helpful. Photos of our food on this review. Two of our party asked for a signature salad and a linguine, and an extra plate so we could share both dishes. The staff upsold us 2 side salads to go with 2 vegan linguine. Dry spinach leaves with no dressing, were placed around the pasta for an extra £3.50 each. We were offered mayo, but this was not vegan. The linguine was dry with few vegetables. It was disappointing to spend £14.00 each for a small portion of pasta surrounded by dry spinach leaves (we were hungry). Good wholesome and tasty vegan food is easily achieved. Sadly many pubs like this have a way to go with offering healthy vegan dishes. Many charge a premium for limited and unimaginative options. My guest said her £15.00 three cheese and mushroom burger with fries was tasty.”

  “Went here & had the Christmas menu. Not really suitable for large groups as we were crammed up against a wall with barely any room to get in and out. Doesn't help I get claustrophobic easily. Found this quite distressing at times. Onto the food, as a starter, I had chicken goujons. These weren't to my taste at all. I didn't realise it would have overpowering herbs as a coating so I could barely taste the chicken & the salad wasn't particularly tasty either. For main, Turkey Dinner. Vegetables were served separately from the rest of meal (hence the lack of them on my plate due to there not being enough for all of us). Sprouts were like balls of rock. Potatoes were overcooked too but the Turkey was ok. No Yorkshire pudding either. The best was the Ginger Sundae I had for afters. It was delicious. Staff were friendly & that's the only reason for the rating. Food not great but edible I guess & lack of space. Don't think I'll be going back again.”
