About Fox & Hounds
Fox & Hounds is a pub at 186 Harborough Rd in Northampton, with a raffle that gives away joints of meat and cash prizes, plus a round of organised "funday" games for anyone who joins in. The kitchen serves a roast dinner, a Mixed Grill and pie, chips and peas with a jug of gravy, and a Specials Board sits alongside the main menu. Fish and chips comes with battered fish. At the bar, several hand pumps pour ale. Live music and events add a singer, a reggae night and dancing. Dogs are welcome, so owners can bring them along.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the friendly staff and lively atmosphere, with the Sunday roast and mixed grill singled out as excellent and more than enough to eat. Close behind are a pie with chips, peas and a jug of gravy that one diner called just what they wanted, and a fish dish with light, crunchy batter. Live music, a reggae event, Sunday games and raffles for joints of meat and cash keep the place busy, and several mention drinks and the ale as reasonably priced. The caveats are mostly about kitchen supply and timing. One diner found the sticky toffee pudding closer to spotted dick, only one of two ordered chocolate fudge cakes was available, and an apple pie never arrived, though the waiting staff apologised and adjusted the bill. Another reviewer could not order the only salad because the lettuce had run out, and described a long wait when the pub was quiet. One reviewer noted only two of three ale pumps were running. Another returned the next day to find a jacket left on a bench outside had been kept safe for them.

“Food was ok I guess. They'd run out of lettuce (?) so couldn't order the only salad on menu. Pretty long wait considering it was dead.”

“Nice pub, very friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Celebrating our grandsons birthday and they had a reggae event going on. Nice evening out. Highly recommend. Not tried the food yet but menu looks good.”

“Very friendly environment. Great staff. I left my jacket on the bench outside and called up the next day they had collected it and kept it safe. it was returned the following day”

“Excellent pub with happy, friendly atmosphere with helpful staff and good accommodation, seating etc. The Sunday Roast and Mixed Grill were both excellent and very challenging being more than enough to eat for most people. The ale was excellent, although only two of three pumps on tap and very reasonably priced. Although the pub was very busy the staff were really hard working and gave excellent service with a smile. On Sundays they hold a number of raffles where you can win joints of meat and cash prizes, and its great fun and much enjoyed. I will definitely be returning as its most enjoyable and a fun pub to go to for drinks or meals.”

“Went there to see a singer & to dance. Ended up eating there too. Lively pub full of families, lots of kids dashing about. The kitchen was open & they were cooking on Easter Sunday... Varied menu plus Specials Board and food was good.”
