About Brampton Halt

Brampton Halt is a pub on Pitsford Rd in Northampton, housed in a converted train station beside the Brampton Valley Way. An outdoor BBQ hut gives the grounds a grill of their own alongside the kitchen. The menu includes roast dinners, with a trio option that pairs lamb and beef served pink. The pub also hosts weddings and corporate awards evenings, using a marquee for those larger events. Large groups are asked to pre-book. Walkers on the trail are among the visitors who stop in.

Customer Review Summary

The main complaints are slow service and value. One table waited about twenty minutes after mains to order puddings and had to go to the bar to pay, and another found the stir fry the size of a starter with five prawns. A visitor off the heritage railway called drinks expensive and the service muddled. The ordering app also failed one diner, though the chef started the food anyway, and a free birthday song was a highlight for another.

“Can't say my friend nor I were too impressed with here passing through on an afternoon on the little preserved railway. Awfully expensive (shy of £11 for one Moretti and Latte) and slow service with trying to serve too many people at once logistics then subsequently getting somewhat muddled up a bit. Sticky menus everywhere and automatic toilet taps that take an age to finally function and even then with a dribble of water. The outdoor area and beer garden are nice though on a fine day once you get you order.”

“What an amazing pub. Food was amazing and definitely worth what we paid. The outdoor BBQ hut really adds to the experience and the surrounding are stunning. Plenty of staff and they were very friendly. Absolutely would come back here again.”

“What a lovely Gem in the Northampton Town Country side. I would recommend this very highly. The food was exceptional, the atmosphere is like being in a relaxed holiday restaurant. I ate at the outside bar/grill. There was a problem with the app which is how you order food. Mark the chef said don't worry I will gey it on for you now by the time this is sorted at least your food will be ready. The food was some of the best I have tasted and was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Josh came over several times and double checked everything was OK. Both staff where wonderful and checked in to make sure I was happy. Would of been a 5 star review if we hadn't had all the problems with the app. Something for the management to look into.”

“We've never been here before and met friends for Sunday Lunch. We had excellent weather which made this establishment, inside and out, busy but this was managed very well indeed. The whole place gave off a fabulous atmosphere. The food was great and the service was efficient. We will definitely come again.”
