About The Printworks
Set behind a unit at the rear of a yard on Arrow Cl, on a trading estate between Killingworth and West Moor, The Printworks is a bar and cafe in Newcastle Upon Tyne with no kitchen of its own. Instead, street food vendors and pop-up carts, including a pizza van, park outside, and food can be carried in to eat with the drinks. Behind the bar there are cocktails, beers, wines and coffee, with lattes, espresso and hot chocolate among the options, and a short list of five dishes runs to plates such as Avo on Toast, Bao Down for Benedict and the Spicy Hot One Parmo. Drinks can also be ordered through the W8R app, and both cash and card are taken. The covered outdoor area has benches and booths with fire pits and heaters, and dogs and children are equally welcome. Live music is put on, and the bar runs Wednesday to Sunday on a walk-in basis, with a public car park opposite.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the covered outdoor seating with heaters, where live music and a good variety of cocktails and beers set it apart from a typical pub. Close behind are the dog-friendly welcome and the street food vendors outside, with a pizza van and a taco van named as highlights. Coffee gets a mixed response: one reviewer found a latte decent, while another called the cold coffees atrocious and described a terrible attitude when feedback was given. The most detailed complaint comes from a reviewer who reports dirty seats where dogs had been sitting on the sofas, poor toilet facilities, and an older man telling people off after a live artist was asked to turn the sound down. Others describe kind staff, a quiet drink, and a mid week coffee they plan to return for. One reviewer says the bar is tucked behind a unit on a trading estate and that the covered space is surprisingly wind free.

“Did not enjoy it. Dirty seats were dogs were sitting on sofas.very nasty old man telling people off had booked a live artist told to turn sound down poor toilet facilities dirty place. Won't be visiting again.very quick to reply. Just shows that the place is not up to standard. When dogs get up on cream covering and the proprietor knows about it You can nowadays get a washing machine to clean them or have a replacement. Also do you have a music licence. To me and the family the music was not to loud. And many thanks to the council for getting in touch with you so prompt.as for the toilet facilities they were not up to standard and do not blame the people at the venue. You also had patrons in the bar. And as for the old bloke complaining about the children. GET A LIFE.”

“Great little hidden gem in-between Killingworth and West Moor, visited for a coffee with a mate and enjoyed the experience. We arrived around lunch time on a weekday and it was quiet, we each had a latte which was decent. Would recommend for a coffee break. I shall have to return to try the cocktails and beer. Not sure if they do food, will check that out next time too.”
