  “We had a lovely meal for a big group for my daughters 30th birthday but maybe because it was pre-ordered so a little tip, book in advance as my husband and I called in Friday lunchtime with our two young grandchildren and queued at the bar for quite a while before being told due to kitchen issues they were not taking walk ins for food. The young waitress with long black hair did see me with a baby in a buggy holding menus and salt and vinegar about 15 minutes earlier so it would have been appreciated if she had mentioned that there were no walk in food orders. I asked for a spoon to feed my grandson but she was more interested in talking to some customers she knew. Not a great experience. Such a shame as they have a lovely set up there for children with their play area.”

  “We had our business meal here today #TeamFitnessFusion and the hospitality was absolutely incredible! Every single staff member was attentive with great communication and manners. The food was amazing!!! Every single person with us gave the food 10/10! - friendly and welcome door staff and a lovely big car park for ease of access! Couldn’t fault the place! 10/10”

  “We visited the Ship for a birthday meal as I haven’t been for a number of years. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. We had the Ship burger (£16) and this has left me and my wife poorly. The bar staff weee slow and more interested in talking to themselves than taking orders and even seen a bar staff member leave the toilet without washing her hands. It was supposed to be a birthday celebration but turned out to be a waste of money. I would not recommend this pub to anyone.”

  “We just stopped into the restaurant for lunch, and it was sensational, we are a family with 2 gluten free people, and it was nothing short of perfect service. The girls were absolutely lovely, and the food was fantastic. I would completely recommend this place for anyone wanting a quick and lovely lunch. Thank you Ship Inn 🫡”

  “We booked the Ship Inn, Caerleon for my Husband’s 70th for a private function. Wendy and the team went above and beyond for us, accepting all my food/drink/layout requests, and accommodating us brilliantly. Everyone was really impressed at the quality of the food, and the staff were wonderful. We booked in for a Sunday lunch the following day for 21 people and not one person had any complaints or issues with their meal. In fact it was one of the best Sunday lunches we’d had. Highly recommend the Ship, excellent food, lovely staff, good value for money and it’s especially good for private functions.”

  “Had a fantastic beef roast dinner at The Ship and couldn't recommend it more. The roast potatoes were perfectly crispy, the gravy was packed with flavour, and the Yorkshire puddings were lovely and crisp. The beef we had was excellent quality, melted in your mouth. It was really wholesome, proper Sunday roast done right. Brilliant value for money too. I'll definitely be coming back, and would highly recommend the roast to anyone in the area”

  “We had a delicious Sunday roast here recently. There was plenty of meat and a great selection of veg. There was lots of gravy too, which I think makes a roast. I had the lamb, which was really tender and my husband had the beef which was the same. The meals were very reasonably priced at £17 and £19. I really couldn't fault them and we'll definitely be back. The staff were really friendly and helpful too. Well done The Ship!”
