About The Hall Inn Pub & Restaurant
The Hall Inn Pub & Restaurant is a pub on Old Raglan Road in Usk, with beams overhead and a choice between a more formal dining area and a less formal bar. Liver, bacon and mash is a recurring main, and a specials board runs alongside the main menu for a change of pace. Starters and mains are served together as a two-course lunch, and the Sunday roast comes with lamb or mixed meat. Desserts include apple crumble. The bar pours real ales and a choice of wines, so a drink fits alongside either a meal or a visit to the bar room. The pub opens Tuesday to Sunday and closes on Mondays.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often come back to the Sunday roast, with the lamb singled out repeatedly for its thick, tasty gravy and good potatoes, and one diner praising a mixed meat plate where every part was done well. Close behind is the home cooked traditional fare, including liver with bacon and mash, which two reviewers name, and an apple crumble described as exceptional. Portions are called plentiful, with one couple regretting ordering starters because of the amount of food, and another visitor describing everything as tasting homemade. Staff come across as friendly, warm and quick, even with a large party in. Reviewers also mention beams, a formal dining area alongside a less formal bar, real ales, and a modern outdoor seating area at the back. The one caveat is that vegetarian choices seemed limited to one reviewer, who found the specials board helpful and suggests calling ahead about dietary needs and reserving a table. One visitor on a trip through Wales called it the best meal of their two weeks, and a family plans to return for Sunday lunch.

“The service was friendly and efficient. It was busy with a large party table near us. Even with the large party food was served on efficiently. The food was out of this world. Everything tasted homemade. I'm very hard to please because I have very high standards for my food. I was very pleased with the food. I was so full from starter and main that I could not fit a desert. I always leave room for pudding, it's my favourite part. But everything was so good that I couldn't stop myself. This is a meat lovers dream. There seemed to be a limited vegetarian options. They do have a specials board that had just as much selection as the main menu. If you're vegetarian or have food requirements I advise calling ahead to speak to the staff. If you want food make sure you call to reserve a table. The food here is popular and I can see why. Thourghly enjoyed.”

“Incredible Sunday roast and lovely service. We had the lamb and mixed meat, both were a good size and every part was done well. Especially nice gravy and potatoes. Lovely staff and atmosphere too”

“Our first time here at the Hall Inn . We've recently moved into the area and are looking at different venues for lunch It's a proper traditional style pub with beams. It's very friendly but also spacious . We had the two course lunch which was very plentiful and tasty .I had the tandoori salad and my husband had the liver, bacon and mash .there was so much we regretted having starters. Overall a very nice experience.”
