Customer Review Summary
Reviewers come mainly for the tea, with the selection described as impressive and mind-boggling. Named picks include a Bergamot and Rose green tea and the jasmine dragon, and one reviewer calls a cup "rich, aromatic, and incredibly comforting." Close behind are the bagels, with one reviewer calling them "proper" and another "insane," and the cakes, including a Pecan and Caramel Roll described as huge. Chicken tacos and breakfast also get praise, with food arriving piping hot. Several describe the atmosphere as peaceful, calm and clean, and one reviewer found it a great place to study. Dogs are welcomed, and one visitor's dogs were brought sausages. The main caveat is order accuracy. One reviewer notes orders can have mistakes and confusions and had to walk to the counter proactively, and another waited around ten minutes before staff realized the order had been missed. One suggests booking at peak time. That missed order was brought out shortly after with a complimentary bakery item as an apology.

“Insane bagels from dot bagels and the drinks were delicious also. Recommend booking as peak time, we had to come back and they could squeeze us in. Very popular for good reason”

“Great tea/coffee shop. I had the standard Americano and my wife had a Bergamot and Rose green tea. Both were excellent and full of flavour. We also shared a Pecan and Caramel Roll, which was HUGE and delicious. Only realised that there was only crumbs left when I wanted to take a photo. Hence the photo of all their cake selection.”

“Called in for a cuppa with my dad and 2 dogs. Very busy, great to see. Dogs welcomed, but we were happy to sit outside (warm day). Very polite and friendly staff. Brought 4 sausages for the dogs! My rescue lab has said it’s now his favourite place and wants to go back. The collie agrees. They’ve told all their friends in the Tyne Valley. Delicious chicken tacos, tea and coffee! Thank you and well done for all your hard work. 🐶”

“I had such a lovely experience at Clarmount Restaurant, and I honestly felt like it deserved a mention. I went in mainly for tea, and it completely exceeded my expectations. The tea was beautifully made — rich, aromatic, and incredibly comforting. It was one of those cups that makes you pause, relax, and just enjoy the moment. What really stood out to me was the atmosphere. The place has such a calm and welcoming vibe that you instantly feel at ease. It’s peaceful without feeling dull, and elegant without feeling too formal — just the perfect balance. I found myself wanting to sit longer than planned. I also want to genuinely appreciate the manager and the staff. Everyone was warm, polite, and attentive, and you can tell they truly care about their guests. The manager clearly does a great job creating a positive environment, and it shows in how smoothly everything runs and how friendly the team is. The restaurant itself is clean, comfortable, and well looked after. The seating is pleasant, the surroundings are peaceful, and all the amenities are thoughtfully arranged, which made the whole visit feel effortless and enjoyable. Overall, Clarmount isn’t just a place to grab a tea — it’s a place to unwind and feel good. I’ll definitely be coming back, and I’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for great tea and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere”
