Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the sandwiches and loaded sourdough, with the chicken sandwich raved about and the sourdough described as tasty and so big it barely fit the plate. Close behind are the coffee, the strawberry and cream cocktails, and a gooey Camembert sharer served with house wine, alongside a cake display and gluten free options that draw praise. Many describe the decor and plants as stunning and the outside seats as lovely, and a downstairs area suits studying or larger groups. The caveats carry real weight. Several find it expensive, one citing a bill for two lattes, a cake and a brownie that far exceeded the online menus, another saying a vegan loaded sourdough cost the full price despite losing the feta. One reviewer describes cakes arriving well before the hot drinks, which then came cold, with a latte spilt because the cup did not fit the saucer. A brisket toasty and its side salad dressing disappointed one diner, and another felt watched and was asked to pay upfront. One reviewer praised the accessible ground floor toilet as clean with plenty of space.

“The staff member was lovely but my goodness how expensive is this place. Two lattes (even though I asked for americanos but didn't realise until it was brought over to the table and by then I didn't like to say) and a slice of cake and a brownie. £22.99 😱😱 where does the pricing come from, the menus online are nowhere near as expensive as that. Do they just make prices up as they go along? I really shouldn't have paid it and spoke out but I'm polite and British and paid for it and now just leaving a review. I'll never go back unless I remortgage my house. Also the owner on here can't take bad reviews and replies to honest customers like they are dirt on their shoe. Take some critisim and be an adult and right your wrongs otherwise you'll have no customers left.”

“Flower Cafe is a nice place to chill and spend some time with friends. There’s a downstairs area that’s useful for studying or if you’re with a bigger group. The atmosphere is relaxed although during busy times I wouldn’t recommend if you are searching for a quiet environment however overall makes it a good option for meeting friends or getting some work done. Also during busy times you can expect some delay but that is very rare for delay to occur.”

“There was an option for "loaded sourdough" which included feta, pomegranates, avacado and sauce. There was a vegan option.... i ordered at it was literally the same minus the feta and they still charged me the full £9.95 for taking an item off? I was under the impression they would have vegan feta as it is in all major supermarkets. It was so dissappinting. We were also asked if we wanted to pay upfront, nobody else was asked this. I believe this could have been them judging the way we looked? And they seemed to hover around us and nobody else. I would not come here again. Over priced and unfriendly. Their iced lattes cost more than London prices, too!”

“We visited Newcastle today and was overwhelmed by Cafè options. Looking around we found the Flower Cafè which seemed like a perfect fit for us. As you walk in you are immediately greeted by staff and overwhelmed with plants galore which was stunning. Unfortunately these were all plastic and fake, a few real plants would be a nice touch but understand they can be a pain to maintain. The cafè us huge and has plenty of seats, we had a delightful meal here, I went for a loaded Sourdough which was tasty and so big it barely fit on the plate. The coffee was pretty nice, it was a mild flavour but delightful. Staff seemed friendly as well. Only let down was the Brisket Toasty. My partner mentioned this was nothing special and the dressing on the side salad was unpleasant. But everything else was tasty! I will be coming back again!”
