Customer Review Summary

Breakfast is what most reviewers return for, with the full English singled out as one of the nicest they have had, and a German breakfast also called delicious and generous enough to take half home. Close behind are the cakes and coffee, with a cappuccino and a latte both praised, and daily specials such as cod and prawn Thai fish cakes, a four cheese toastie with homemade coleslaw, and lasagna with garlic bread. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and helpful, and the attached homeware shop gets its own praise. Complaints are small but specific. One reviewer found the bacon very thick and the cappuccinos not hot enough, another's father was served a vegetarian sausage nobody had asked for, and one notes limited vegetarian options and fewer cakes late in the afternoon. A repeat visitor found lunch crowded with four dogs, including one large dog sprawled across the floor. Dogs are otherwise welcomed, and one reviewer's pair received little biscuits.

“Popped into Timothy and Birch for a lovely cappuccino, it was that good we returned later in the week whilst holidaying in the area. The staff are very friendly and there’s even an adjoining shop selling home furnishings. We sat outside on both occasions but there’s also plenty of space inside.”

“One of the nicest English breakfasts we have ever had.. Lovely set out cafe, with several different styles of seating for different diners. Nice selection of cakes, ours were take away. Then attached to the side a lovely shop with beautiful ware. We were served by a very helpful gentleman, who passed us on some local tips of where to visit. A truly nice start to the day.”

“Have driven past this place many times, and finally got the chance to have breakfast there today. What can I say except WOW. Both breakfasts (full English & German) both delicious and sooooo generous. Was supplied with a box to take half of mine home! Little jars of jams and sauce are rare these days, but give a much more quality experience. Only criticisms: very thick bacon (more like gammon). Personally, we prefer thinner and a bit crispier (save yourselves some money, nobody needs that much pig!) Also, the cappuccinos could do with being a bit hotter 🙏 The place is dog friendly, they even brought some little biscuits for our pair. The interior is beautiful, comfy, peaceful (as you might expect in an interiors shop!) Had a quick look round the shop and it's full of beautiful things. The cakes looked lovely. Prices - our breakfasts were £13 each. I thought this was excellent value. The cakes were £3.50-£5, fairly standard nowadays. All looked delicious and great selection... we will SO be coming back.”

“Absolute 💯 fantastic place. We had been to The Weir (NT) in Hereford and were looking for somewhere to get a coffee and a snack. The lady on the gate recommended this place, as there are no catering facilities at The Weir. Well, the service was impeccable, warmly greeted and swiftly served with very reasonably priced food and drink, the quality of the snack's and coffees were first class. There is a lovely shop attached to this café selling various household items, cushions, throws, mirrors, clocks, nice ornamental products (not tat), all manner of things for the home. Plenty of parking, and a nice outdoor area to consume your purchases. This café is very popular, and you can soon see why, the owners are fabulous, friendly people and this is transmitted throughout the business.”

“At 2pm on Friday 10th April I popped into T & B as I was mildly peckish. I ordered a four cheese toastie. Wow - it was gorgeous and came with homemade coleslaw which was delicious. All the staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is really nice. What more can I say - gorgeous food and amazing staff. Very highly recommended!”
