About THE CAFE

At 43 Rural Enterprise Centre in Hereford, THE CAFE operates as a walk-in cafe within an office and flex building. The breakfast and lunch menus include ham, egg and chips, alongside coffee and cake service. An open kitchen design lets the preparation area stay visible to the seating. The entrance is step-free and wheelchair accessible, making it workable for visitors with mobility needs, and high chairs are available for families with young children. Dogs are welcome inside, and outdoor seating gives another option for eating outside. Food is available to eat in or take away. The cafe opens Monday to Friday during the day only, closing on weekends. Parking is plentiful on site, which suits a location that sits off the beaten track.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often praise the breakfast, with a fluffy omelette and a small breakfast described as beautifully cooked and plentiful, and one diner calling the ham, egg and chips the best they have had. Close behind are the coffee and cake, which several describe as really good and excellent value, alongside a great choice of cakes. Friendly, efficient staff and very reasonable prices come up repeatedly, and one reviewer mentions a buzz in the place. The setting draws comment too: it sits inside an office building, so a couple of reviewers say it can be slightly hard to find, and one calls the decor basic, though another says it was very clean and tidy with plentiful parking. The main complaint is from one lunchtime visitor, who found it pretty warm inside given the open kitchen and the size of the room, and waited around 30 minutes for food at peak hour. Even so, that reviewer called the food very nice for the price.

“WOW! Popped in for breakfast after dropping car off for service at garage on outskirts of Hereford. Not expecting a lot but was blown away by the tasty and quality offerings on menu both for breakfast and lunch. I ordered omelette which came really fluffy and pillows. My other half had a small breakfast which came beautifully cooked and plentiful. Prices were very good as was their coffee and cake. Staff were friendly, helpful and chatty and there was a good flow of customers. Although off the beaten track, there was plentiful parking and cafe was very clean and tidy. Will definitely visit again when next in Hereford and support the small independent cafe.”

“Really nice "no frills" cafe. Excellent, friendly staff, very tasty food, at very reasonable prices. Can be slightly hard to find because it's part of an office building, but we'll worth the effort”

“This little cafe is obviously aimed at working men. It's location is in a flex space and the decor is basic. But the service is fast and friendly, and the prices are very good. We came for breakfast and it was great.”
