Customer Review Summary

Diners most often praise fresh, flavourful food, with the mixed grill the dish raised most, described as fresh on a takeaway order and shared by a group of five. Close behind is the ful medammas, called some of the best one reviewer has had, at a brunch that offers a Middle Eastern take on the English breakfast. The mujdara and mushroom bil zait are also singled out. Others mention mezze, lamb koftas, generous portions, friendly staff and easy online ordering for takeaway. One reviewer describes a warm, colourful room. The main complaint is a single takeaway lamb shawarma that arrived as dry shredded lamb with flatbreads that looked store bought, a tub of supermarket garlic sauce instead of toum, and no salad, which the reviewer likened to a DIY kit. In one visit for five, the vegetarian's portion was kept separate from the meat when asked.

“Got a takeout order which we ordered online, absolutely delicious. Great value for money and super fresh. Staff were so friendly and helpful plus the online ordering system was so easy and efficient! Can’t comment much on the atmosphere as we didn’t eat in, but what we saw looked amazing and can guarantee we will be back for a meal in the restaurant!!”

“The food tastes great, but just a heads up if you visit Zena's: if you happen to find a foreign body in your food, apparently it's just part of the menu! I found a sharp piece of plastic in my dish, which the kitchen staff openly admitted was a piece of a plastic container. They promised a discount on the bill for the safety hazard, but when the check arrived, there was no deduction. When I called them out, they backtracked and claimed it was part of the food order. Terrible customer service and a complete lack of integrity. I definitely won't be going back.”

“Get ready for one of the worst reviews ever, I just ordered a Lamb Shawarma, what I received was an absolute joke. I received two small packet / store bought round flatbreads with a tray of dry lamb meat, no salad, no traditional Lebanese garlic sauce (toum), just a tub of supermarket garlic sauce, dry shredded lamb and a piece of bread......never in my life have I seen anything like this from a Lebanese restaurant, It was like a child's sandwich DIY kit, a miles away from a Shawarma, I will never order from this place ever again. Look at their recent photos to see the images.”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We visited Zena with the family for brunch and came away really impressed. The portions were generous, so everyone left full, and the quality of the food was excellent. The standout dish for me was the ful medammas. It was full of flavour and easily some of the best I've had. I also loved the idea behind the menu. It's refreshing to see a restaurant offer a Middle Eastern take on the traditional English breakfast. With so many brunch spots serving the same fry-up, coffee and pastries, Zena offers something different without losing the comfort of a hearty breakfast. The service was friendly, the food arrived promptly, and everything felt fresh and well prepared. We'll definitely be back and I'd happily recommend it to anyone looking for a brunch that's a little different from the usual café experience.”
