Customer Review Summary
Steak and eggs is the most praised dish, with one reviewer calling it cooked to perfection and returning two days running, and another saying they loved it. The rustik eggs, smashed lime avo and full english also draw good words, and reviewers describe the food as delicious and freshly made. Staff are called friendly, lovely and welcoming, and the atmosphere is described as great and cosy, with a Guinness and a Cruz Campo both called excellent. Criticism is scattered but specific. One reviewer waited a long time to be served by a lone staff member, found steak and eggs had run out, and left the shakshuka, vegan sausages, chalky matcha latte and weak coffee mostly uneaten, with only the sourdough toast worth eating. Another objected to a 20% service charge on three fry ups, and one found the burrito portion small. One diner wanted more halal options, and another was not keen on their drink. Reviewers close on a server apologising as the untouched plates were left behind.

“Whilst the food was good, a 20% service charge for 3 fry ups is very unreasonable. Whilst the girls were great, bringing plates over in a cafe isn’t anything out the ordinary. Seems such a shame as it has great potential but quite a large sting for the bill!”

“Icarus and Flicarus took us to West Didsbury for the first time since November 2019. The area seems to be thriving. Popped into this Irish themed cafe bar for a pint of Guinness and a pint of Cruz Campo. Both excellent. About £6 each a pint. Busy with families enjoying brunch. Seats about 40 inside and 12 out. Ground floor bar with upstairs toilets. Tv's showing sport on a busy Saturday sports day.”
