About Saajan Restaurant | Indian and Pakistani Food
Saajan Restaurant is a halal restaurant at 129 Wilmslow Rd in Manchester, serving Indian and Pakistani food to people looking for a late-night meal. The menu runs across lunch and dinner dishes, vegetable plates, desserts and a happy hour. Karahi dishes come in both chicken and lamb versions, and biryani and samosa chaat sit alongside them. The kitchen cooks dishes fresh, so the food is not super quick, and seating is upstairs. A sweet naan is offered at the end of a meal.

Customer Review Summary
Samosas come up most, praised for crispy pastry and generous filling, alongside samosa chaat, papri chaat and pakora. Close behind are the karahis, with one diner finding the extra spicy chicken karahi big enough for two, and the biryani that a regular says tastes like home in India. Lamb chops, beef curry, lamb skewers in flatbread and fluffy naan also earn praise, and prices are called reasonable. A few note that freshly cooked food is not super quick and that building work left the place a bit messy. The one serious complaint is a Ramadan order of chicken and lamb tikkas that arrived burnt to a crisp, followed by a rude staff member hanging up on the complaint before a manager blamed a new employee. Another visitor describes the owner offering a free qahwa and sweet naan at the end of the meal.

“I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. To start, they served a complimentary dessert made with flower powder and honey—it was delicately sweet, incredibly flavorful, and had a truly unique aroma. We also tried a dish similar to Chinese fried veggiballs, which were perfectly crispy and delicious. For the main course, we ordered lamb skewers wrapped in flatbread. Everything was absolutely tasty. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, and the prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend stopping by for a great meal!”

“Visited Sajan Restaurant on Wilmslow Road last night with friends and had a wonderful experience. The owner gave us a very warm and genuine welcome, which immediately set a positive tone for the evening. One of our friends wasn’t feeling well, and the owner kindly offered him a cup of qahwa on the house to help him feel better — a truly thoughtful and caring gesture that we really appreciated. We enjoyed friendly conversation with the owner in a relaxed, homely atmosphere. The food was delicious, and the tea was excellent as well. To top it off, the management kindly offered us sweet naan at the end, which was a lovely surprise. Overall, the hospitality, food, and environment were outstanding. It felt more like visiting friends than dining out. I will definitely be visiting again and highly recommend this place.”

“Came here for some food after a night out and the food was really great. Had some work going on so the place looks a bit messy but still the food is great. Freshly cooked so not super quick but worth it. Price is fair too. Will be back soon for sure”
