Customer Review Summary
Reviewers repeatedly single out the kabuli pulao, with the rice's distinct grains, sultanas, and beef praised alongside its chilli tomato sauce and mint yogurt sauce. Close behind, the chicken al faham and kofta kebab draw consistent praise for their char and flavor, with one diner calling the kofta kebab the best in Manchester, and lamb chops and grilled sea bass also earning mentions. Several note reasonable prices, including five lamb chops on rice for under thirteen pounds, and describe friendly, welcoming staff even when a large group arrived without a reservation. Traditional floor seating upstairs is noted as good for families and groups. One reviewer found the food a bit bland despite good service. Portions and freshness cooked over charcoal come up often, and one longtime customer notes the food has stayed consistent through a recent refurbishment.

“I had a really strong craving for both kabuli pulao and some baked chicken. I just placed an order from Al Tauba Bukhari, specifically for the chicken al faham and the kabuli pulao. • CHICKEN AL FAHAM The chicken was really flavorful, it had a nice juicy texture, and it was seasoned perfectly. It delivered a really good taste, and you could definitely feel the char from being grilled. I highly recommend giving it a try. • KABULI PULAO The rice was perfectly separated, each grain distinct, and the sultanas were properly sweet. The rice itself was juicy and well-seasoned, allowing you to really savor the proper taste of the beef nestled inside. This dish really stands out when paired with their excellent chilli tomato sauce and refreshing mint yogurt sauce. And don't forget, their salad was also quite good. • TIP You absolutely must try the dish where two sauced rice portions are topped with a few pieces of chicken, plus a side salad. That first bite really gives you a true sense of how this dish is supposed to taste. * RATING Chicken Al faham received a score of 10 out of 8.5. The Kabuli Pulao was rated 10 out of 8. Overall, this restaurant is definitely worth trying.”
