About MyLahore Manchester

MyLahore Manchester is an Indian restaurant at 14-18 Wilmslow Rd in Manchester, where traditional Indian dishes share one menu with Chinese-style dishes such as noodles, and everything is halal. Diners can order from both styles in a single visit without changing restaurants. The biryani options include Chicken Dum Biryani, and butter chicken is on the menu too, with garlic naan as the bread to go alongside. Drinks cover more than water, and the kitchen runs a globally inspired range rather than a single regional one. The space works as a modern cafe and diner, finished in colourful decor.

Customer Review Summary

Biryani is the dish reviewers return to most, with the chicken dum biryani and the lamb biryani both praised as tender, fragrant and full of flavour, and one diner describing a server cutting into the dum at the table. Close behind are the butter chicken, lamb karahi and prawn masala, which one reviewer calls delicious, along with fresh, soft naan and refreshing drinks such as mango lassi. A vegan "chicken" curry and battered king prawns also draw praise, and portions are described as huge. Staff come up in nearly every review, described as friendly, attentive and welcoming, and one diner received a birthday cake they did not expect. Reviewers also mention a lively, colourful room, a small prayer room, and clean toilets with sinks for wudhu. The criticisms are small: one reviewer found the samosa chaat just ok, and another disliked the soggy garlic sitting on top of the garlic naans, preferring it baked into the bread.

“WOW!! We have visited MyLahore before on a busy Saturday night where there was an abundance of families and friends creating a super warm atmosphere, but we decided to come again on a weekday and despite it being slightly busy, there was no wait for a table and we were greeted with such a warm welcome from front of house staff. All of the staff are so tentative and lovely, Daina was our waitress for the evening and she was extremely helpful with such a lovely disposition, THANKYOUU DAINA! The food here is always 10/10 and we can recommend it enough. The portion sizes are huge. We spent about £60 overall, this covered a starter nibble, 4 dishes, a side and 2 mango lassi and two jugs of water provided by the restaurant; we spent about £30 per person out of curiosity but definitely could have spent less as we couldn’t finish all of the amazing food! Thankyou MyLahore!!!!”
