About Bilash Balti House
Bilash Balti House is an Indian restaurant in Manchester, at 553-555 Bolton Rd, with an open-plan kitchen where diners can watch their food being made. The curry house menu runs from mild, creamy dishes such as chicken korma to spicier options such as chicken madras. Garlic naan, onion bhajis and pilau rice sit alongside the curries as accompaniments. A separate takeaway counter operates apart from the dining room, so collection orders are handled away from the tables.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the curries themselves, describing chicken korma and chicken madras as delicious, full of flavour and freshly cooked, with the right amount of spice and generous portions. Naan with garlic, onion bhajis, chips and pilau rice round out one diner's order, and several mention a choice of mild and creamy dishes or ones with more kick. Close behind is the staff, called friendly and helpful with dish choices, never rushing a customer who can't decide, and getting a party of five plus a baby their hot food together. Several describe good value and reasonable prices, and one likes the open plan takeaway counter where the cooking is visible. The one critical review came from a regular collection customer eating in for the first time, who received a curry different from the usual order, was served a second wrong curry after staff remade the first, could not eat it, and was surprised to be charged double the collection price for the same items.

“Bilash Balti House is a proper little gem if you love a good curry. The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavour, freshly cooked and with just the right amount of spice. There’s a great choice on the menu, so whether you like something mild and creamy or prefer a bit more of a kick, there’s plenty for any palette. The portions were generous too, and everything tasted fresh and well prepared. It has that lovely, no-nonsense feel of a local curry house where the food is the star of the show. We really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back to work our way through more of the menu! A great local spot for a proper curry and well worth trying if you're in the area.”

“Delicious, friendly staff, beautiful food - amazing cheeky Monday night takeout curry for 2!! On this occasion we took the food home, but have eaten in, and everything was great!”

“I was quite disappointed as I order from here most days for collection and it’s always been spot on, with no issues at all. This was my first time eating in, so I was surprised when the experience wasn’t the same. I ordered the same curry I always get for collection, but it came out completely different. The staff kindly remade it, which I really appreciated, however the second curry still wasn’t the one I had ordered. Unfortunately, I couldn’t eat it as it wasn’t my usual dish. I was also surprised to be charged double the price for the same items I normally get when ordering for collection. I’ve always enjoyed ordering from here, so I hope this was just a one-off and that my next visit is back to the high standard I’m used to.”
