About Indigo Indian Restaurant

Indigo Indian Restaurant is an Indian restaurant at 703 Manchester Rd in Bury, organised around a multi-cuisine buffet spread across two floors. Indian food is served downstairs, and the Chinese buffet and carvery sit upstairs. Separate sections also cover Italian, Caribbean and continental dishes, and a Sunday buffet runs as well. Customer Review Summary

Most reviewers come for the buffet, with the lamb chops, biryani and lamb naga singled out as standouts, and curries described as piping hot by some. Close behind are the fish pakoras, chicken wings and naan, though one reviewer found the pakoras tiny and cold. Desserts draw praise, including ras malai and cheesecake, while another found the biscoff cheesecake frozen in the middle and the ice cream disappointing. Several mention the variety, from Indian dishes to a Chinese buffet and carvery upstairs, and the staff are repeatedly called friendly, with one reviewer saying they will fetch food from upstairs for a disabled guest. Complaints are mixed: one reviewer calls the curries average and mild, another found the food bland, and a third missed fresh onions on the salad bar. One reviewer describes stale, musty-smelling chicken, dismissive staff when they raised it, and unclean bathrooms. A busy Sunday brought long queues and narrow gaps between added tables.

“One thing about this place service was really good from all the staff they were incredibly friendly, the only thing that wasn’t the best was the food, it was nice but bland they did have a lot of options but very cold , especially the fish pakora they were tiny and very disappointing. It’s not really catered to apne but for the price it’s worth it, drinks are expensive too. Dessert options were 10/10”

“Only came for a quick meal as we couldn’t be bothered cooking! Really glad we did. The selection of food was amazing. It was really tasty. We will definitely come back again. Highly recommend the Sunday buffet.”

“Absolutely awful experience. The food tasted stale and had a horrible musty smell. The chicken didn’t seem fresh at all, and I couldn’t bring myself to eat much of it because it was so off-putting. What made the experience even worse was the customer service. When I politely explained my concerns, instead of trying to help or resolve the issue, the staff were incredibly rude and dismissive. I was made to feel like I was the problem for raising a genuine concern. I won’t be returning and definitely wouldn’t recommend this place based on my experience. Fresh food and basic customer service should be the minimum, and unfortunately this place failed on both. not to mention the bathrooms are this foul!”

“Amazing food! We got the buffet which consisted of an incredibly diverse menu containing sections with Caribbean, Italian, Chinese and South asian food (all of which was fully halal with specific dietary requirements such as gluten labelled clearly) with standards kept high throughout. Staff were really friendly and helpful throughout, going above and beyond. One member of staff in particular, I believe his name is Rumaan, was super gentle and patient with my mum when going out of his way to show her the variety of options available and even throw in some recommendations. Really great place and 100% would recommend!!”

“Food is perfection?? They are extremely helpful if your disabled and help anyway they can. If you tell them what you would like they will even go upstairs to get it for you. Always ready with a helping hand. Absolutely superb place for a meal. 💯💯”
