About Just Between Friends Coffee
Just Between Friends Coffee is a coffee shop in Manchester's Northern Quarter, on Tib St, pouring coffee from Assembly with a rotating light roast guest espresso and pour overs for filter drinkers. Matcha drinks sit alongside the espresso, and the specials board carries a strawberry iced matcha. The food menu runs to 62 items, with an Avo Bagel and a Croissant among the options for a morning stop. The room is small, and shelves of retail beans line it for anyone who wants to brew the coffee at home.

Customer Review Summary
Flat whites draw the most praise here, described as smooth and not bitter, with one reviewer calling theirs the best flat white in a while. Close behind are an iced latte called spot on, a light roast guest espresso where one reviewer could taste every flavour, and pour overs called clean and balanced, with espresso selections from Assembly. Matcha has its own fans, including a strawberry iced matcha from the specials board and a good strong matcha, and one reviewer suggests asking for less sugar or syrup in the seasonal pistachio latte. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly. The criticisms are specific. One reviewer says the interior feels like a messy apartment, with shelves stacked to the top like a Cash&Carry. Another found their coffee ludicrously hot yet bland and flavourless, and a third thought a cappuccino was quite milky and disliked the chocolate on top. Several mention sitting outside to watch people walk by.

“Called in briefly for a takeaway iced latte, just as they were closing an hour early due to the heatwave, and it was lovely. Friendly and very efficient staff. The iced latte was spot on. Loads of beans on the retail shelf, which is always a great sign! I'll return to try it more fully another time. Highly recommended!”

“Cute place - good coffee although it was still quite milky. Didn’t like the chocolate on the cappuccino but forgot to mention that when ordering. Definitely nice to feel the vibe when sitting outside watching people walking by.”

“Sadly the only place in Manchester selling supreme coffee! Their baristas definitely understand the fundamentals. Ordered a flat white and was really amazed with the quality. Asked for a light roast guest expresso and could taste each and every flavour ❤️ Will definitely be back more often!”
