Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the dim sum as traditional Guangdong or Hong Kong style, naming har gau, char siu bao, cheung fun and dry beef ho fan, with the wonton soup, dumplings and buns also called really good and filling. The roasted duck and pork are described as outstanding, and one reviewer singles out the pork chop special as excellent. Opinions split on consistency. One returning diner says the food has gone downhill, with smaller siu mai, siu lung bao with thick skin, chicken feet that did not come off the bone easily, and char siu baos falling apart. Others call the dim sum underwhelming and lacking flavour, and one says the salt and pepper squid had none at all. Portion size and cost draw complaints from a few, and one reviewer reports being overcharged on the bill. One reviewer describes a rude reply at reception when asking about a student discount. A busy Sunday brought a long wait for dim sum and a Chinese order form that one party translated with Google Translate.

“The food was merely average, and the service was quite poor. When I went to the reception to pay the bill, I asked if there was a student discount. The staff rudely informed me that it had been cancelled. When I calmly asked if it was temporarily suspended due to the low number of students during summer holiday, she aggressively replied, 'Wait for further notice.' Her arrogant tone made it sound as if she were a law enforcement officer issuing a decree rather than someone working in customer service. Completely unacceptable experience.”

“Small portion size, expensive and bland taste. The salt and pepper squid tasted like it didn’t have any flavour at all. The vegetables- maybe nearly just 10 pieces for £20 Not great”

“Check your receipt carefully, guys!!!!! The food was good, but I only realised that I was overcharged until I got home. I don’t understand why I need to pay extra 1.10 pounds ? I know it is only small amount, but if they do this for 100 customers, more than 100 pounds profits they will make.”

“It provides traditional Guangdong dim sum and dishes. One of the very few Chinese restaurants I have experienced can offer this quality in Manchester. It is right above the Chinese supermarket with free parking. The parking space can be limited but there are attendants ready to help you find the spot. There is lift for wheel chair access.”
