Customer Review Summary
Diners return most for authentic, flavourful Chinese food, and the Sichuan dishes draw the most detail. One reviewer singles out the mapo tofu, soft and silky in a deep sauce with the numbing mala heat, and also praises a crunchy spicy pig ear starter in chili oil and a tender, juicy lamb dish. Close behind, another calls the duck the best they have ever had, and a reviewer who lived in China for ten years says the taste is exactly the authentic one they wanted. Staff are described repeatedly as friendly, kind, and respectful, and a few note that food arrives quickly. Opinions on cost differ. Some call the prices reasonable or affordable, while one finds them on the higher side and found the service charge added to the bill unusual. Repeat visitors mention large portions and takeout orders that held up as well as dining in.

“Really enjoyed the food at Lucky Palace (川韵轩). It’s right next to the Hyatt and serves authentic Chinese food with great flavour. Prices are on the higher side, but the food was very good and the staff were friendly. There was a service charge added to the bill, which I found a little unusual, although I understand this is fairly common in the UK. I’d definitely come back if I’m in the area again.”
