About Glamorous Chinese Restaurant
Glamorous Chinese Restaurant is a Cantonese roast meat specialist in Manchester, set in a very large open Hong Kong style dining room on the first floor above the Wing Yip Chinese supermarket. The menu centres on Cantonese Roast Duck and Suckling Roast Pig, with Cantonese dishes and dim sum alongside. The Supreme Combination sharing platter brings several starters to the table on one plate. A large fish tank with live fish and lobsters stands next to the bar. Big tables suit family meals and larger groups, and jasmine tea is served in large teapots. A south-east Asia section rounds out the menu.

Customer Review Summary
Dim sum and Cantonese dishes are what regulars return for, with one reviewer citing years of dim sum, family dinners and weddings here. Diners name the sizzling fillet steak with Cantonese sauce, crispy fried shredded squid, satay baby squid, Chu Hou beef tendon, ginger and spring onion lobster and Beef Ho Fun. One pair shared the Supreme Combination of chicken skewer, seaweed and prawn toast. Portions are called generous, prices affordable, and the big tables suit family meals. Most describe the staff as friendly, helpful and attentive. One reviewer found service quick but perfunctory, with few smiles and no conversation, and another notes that not all servers speak impeccable English. The entrance draws the sharpest complaint. One reviewer on foot found that main road signage pointed to blank walls and locked doors, and had to circle the building on dark streets to find the way in. The same reviewer found the room clinical, jaded and too brightly lit, and another calls the decor a bit dated. One meal ended with free jasmine tea refills, complimentary oranges and a bowl of sago.

“One of the best Chinese restaurants in Manchester. The food is always authentic, fresh, and full of flavour, with an excellent selection of Cantonese dishes and dim sum. The portions are generous, the atmosphere is lively, and it's a great place for family meals or larger gatherings. I've visited several times and the quality has always been consistent. Definitely one of my go-to places for Chinese food in Manchester and highly recommended to anyone looking for an authentic dining experience.”

“After having a wander round Wing Yip, my friend and I decided to have lunch at Glamorous. Sharing the Supreme Combination was such a good call: the chicken skewer, seaweed and prawn toast were all luscious. There were also spring rolls, and I enjoyed the spare rib more than what I usually would. As for the main, I opted for Beef Ho Fun, which came with plenty of meat. We both found the service to be attentive and friendly!”

“Hands down one of my favorite Chinese spots in Manchester. The food is incredible, the vibe is relaxed, and it's just a great place to sit around a big table with family. Also a massive multi-story space with 4 hours of parking on the upper floor means no driving around in circles looking for a space. Highly recommend.”
