  “Impeccable brunch spot. I had their black & blue french toast (special menu) which I thoroughly enjoyed. The blackberry and jalapeno jam was so unique and unlike anything I've ever had, yet paired so well with the rest of the dish. It was also incredibly filling. The only thing that let me down was the matcha, which just tasted like milk. Still, extremely solid brunch options here.”

  “Lovely friendly, attentive staff - our order was taken promptly and we had the most delicious loose leaf tea, millionaire shortbread and salted caramel brownie after a busy day of shopping in Manchester. It was the end of the day, they’d obviously had a busy time of weekend brunches but still made us feel welcome and gave us the heads up immediately on what was available. Really nice calm oasis in a beautiful old arcade, welcome respite from the busy streets around.”

  “I went here with my family for brunch and all the food was 10/10, especially the French toast. The drinks were amazing too - we ordered lattes, Raspberry Matcha and Chaii latte. Cannot fault the customer service, it was just a lovely atmosphere a big shout out to Kenza for looking after us :)”

  “Popped in here for a delightful mid morning drink. It’s based in a quaint shopping arcade with a fresh vibrant atmosphere. The teas were served hot and quickly. Service was great too 👍”

  “The atmosphere here is great, and the staff are really friendly. Our order was ready quite quickly. There’s usually plenty of seating during the week, but I’d recommend booking for the weekend to avoid any wait. Every dish we’ve tried has been delicious. They also have a special offer with a different menu, we went on Sunday and absolutely loved it.”

  “Pot Kettle Black is one of those places I’m generally happy to return to. The space is open, warm, and inviting, and it feels like a nice spot to slow down a bit, especially for brunch or a catch-up. It does get pretty crowded on weekends, so expect a bit of noise and waiting around. Front-of-house service was prompt and friendly when we arrived, which helped, though the kitchen was noticeably slower. Food took a while to come out, but nothing outrageous, just something to be aware of if you’re in a rush. Food itself was pretty decent across the board. Nothing overcomplicated, just well-executed brunch dishes that do what they’re meant to. The real standout for me was the coffee. Easily one of the better cups in Manchester. Balanced, well made, and clearly something they take seriously here. That alone makes the place worth coming back to. Prices felt fair for the location and quality, especially given how central Barton Arcade is. You don’t feel like you’re being overcharged just for sitting somewhere trendy, which I appreciate. Overall, it’s a nice, dependable place to meet friends, chat, and enjoy a good coffee. Go when you’re not in a rush, expect it to be busy on weekends, and you’ll likely leave feeling satisfied rather than stressed.”

  “Amazing experience at Pot Kettle Black. I had the Halloumi Benedict and all I can say is WOW — hands down the best veggie breakfast I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. The coffee was incredible too. Can’t wait to come back!”

  “Its a perfect little cafe. A nice setting with variety of seating, high table and stools normal tables , shared tables, inside and outside( but still inside the center). The food was exceptional ( sweet and savoury). They mixed up my order and were super apologetic, gave 50% off ( i assumed it was off my food but it was the whole bill 🤯 £28 quid saved even after I pointed out they had served what would have been my second choice). The staff were lovely, food came out fast. The coffee and smoothies were also spot on. 10/10 would be back if im ever in Manchester again Edit. Went back today before we got the train, had the other special blackpudding bennny, it was outrageously good. So much going on but it was even better than the ither one 6 out of 5”

  “The last time we were there, we unfortunately arrived without a reservation, so we couldn't get in. This time we were more prepared and made a reservation. So we had a table, but even so, the place was full around 10-11 a.m. on a weekday. The welcome was friendly, as was the service. We received our food in about 15 minutes, but our drinks came later (which was a little strange), and the water we ordered was never served—although it wasn't charged to us. The food was very good, and the bread was especially delicious. As for drinks, the "Mixed Berry" somethie is worth trying.”

  “Pot Kettle Black is the jewel in the brunch crown of Manchester. I had one of their specials and it was frankly the best brunch I've ever had. Service was with style and grace, and despite feeling like I'd waited a while (even though I'd booked a spot) I can't fault the quality of service or the food. My only gripe would be that it felt a little cold, so bring a scarf but you'd be mad not to eat here.”
