About Cafe 19
Cafe 19 is a breakfast and brunch cafe at 19 Lever St in Manchester city centre, where the sausages are sourced locally and the coffee is roasted locally by Heart and Graft. The kitchen cooks a full English breakfast with sausage, bacon, eggs, mushrooms, beans, tomato and toast. It also serves eggs benedict in varieties that include bacon and black pudding. Pancakes come in stacks, with Oreo and Bueno versions on the menu. A specials board carries changing dishes next to the classics. The cafe is independent and takes walk-ins only, so a queue forms to get in at busy times.

Customer Review Summary
Apple and cinnamon French toast is the dish diners single out most, described as thick, fluffy and not too sweet, with ice cream alongside. One reviewer found the French toast on an American breakfast needed to be sweeter and better cooked. Close behind are the pancakes, praised as fluffy and generous, including the Bueno pancakes, and the eggs benedict, with both bacon and black pudding and sweet potato versions enjoyed. The main complaint is the queue. One reviewer waited nearly an hour in the cold and said staff seated several parties at once after a few tables cleared, which slowed the food. That review also found the bacon and beans lukewarm. Another called the avo and halloumi bagel stingy, with a thin layer of avocado, an untoasted chewy bagel and one halved tomato. One diner was surprised by the service charge, while another was happy to pay it. Servers are repeatedly called friendly and attentive, and one diner says staff swapped mushrooms, tomatoes and black pudding for other items without fuss.

“Great portion sizes especially for the pancakes. French toast was delicious - I had apple and cinnamon. Passion fruit and lemon ice cream was refreshing and complimented the food well.”

“service was great the servers were nice and attentive. the fully loaded veggie was tasty and well made however the avo and halloumi bagel - can’t say the same. there was an incredibly thin layer of avocado (as shown in photo it barely covered the bagel) and the Eggs were not great. seemed very stingy and the bagel was chewy + not toasted. advertised as “comes with sun dried tomatoes”… wasn’t expecting 1 baby tomato cut in half?? so that dish was not good at all (£14 if u can believe it) but the other one was okay.”

“Delicious food, super friendly service and great vibes ✨ I enjoyed the sweet potato eggs Benedict with a flat white coffee. Really tasty and generous size portion. Cafe is walk-ins but I only had to wait a few minutes for a table. Staff are all lovely, special thanks to Taylor who makes everyone feel welcome - an absolute star ⭐”

“Food was absolutely amazing and the milkshakes too 😋, (I had the American breakfast and my daughter had Bueno pancakes). Service was quick and the waiter came with added personality. Overall, despite the queue to get in it was well worth it and we will be going back.”

“Delicious full English Breakast and fluffy pancakes! After looking around Manchester for a place to eat breakfast we stumbled across Cafe 19. We went with the full english breakfast (2 sausage, 2 bacon, 2 eggs, mushrooms, beans, tomatoe and toast) and the fluffy pancakes with fruit and maple syrup. You could tell everything was made to order, a little wait but well worth it. If you are looking for a good place to eat for breakfast or brunch. I would highly recommend here. Theres outdoor and indoor dining with plenty of seats.”
