Customer Review Summary

Diners most often single out the coffee and pastries, with multiple praising the great coffee and naming the croissants, maple syrup bun, and almond croissant as standout treats. Several also highlight the quiet, relaxed atmosphere and the selection of artisanal items like jams and crisps. Close behind are complaints about service, with some describing slow or unwelcoming interactions at the counter and one reviewer noting a request for an extra hot drink was ignored. A few also criticise inconsistent quality, citing burnt or flat croissants and hit-or-miss coffee. One reviewer reports finding flies on the counter near ready-to-eat food.

Really affordable (pasta was £6, smoothie was £5) really nice and lovely inside

For a coffee shop charging around £4 per cup, I think it’s reasonable to expect polite and attentive service. I asked for my drink to be extra hot and, despite being the only customer at the time, this wasn’t acknowledged by either barista. In particular, the woman serving didn’t smile or respond when I asked how she was, which made the interaction feel quite unwelcoming. I completely understand that working on a Sunday morning isn’t always easy, but a basic level of friendliness and getting the order right should be standard. Unfortunately, this visit didn’t reflect that, and it left me disappointed. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t recommend.

How this listing is sourced

Where the data comes from
Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
How it stays current
Listings are re-checked in batches against their public profile, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
How it is ranked
Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
