Customer Review Summary

The complaints are about individual dishes. One reviewer found the roast beef dry, not fresh and noticeably less generous than the lamb, while another thought the chicken with pasta salad was bland and needed salt. The French toast tasted quite eggy to one diner, who wanted a proper brioche roll. One found the breakfast plate looked like canteen food, and another wanted more vegan options and a quicker counter. One partner did not rate the coffee. A reviewer who found the cafe on a side street near their hotel noted that the owner went out of her way to help.

“great food , better service. option of indoor and outdoor seating. we always go for a full English and a French toast and it never disappoints. Sunday roast is worth trying. As it's in city centre parking is expensive but that's standard.”

“Food was delicious. We had the spit roast lamb wrap and Cajun chicken toastie and both were fabulous. The owner went out of her way to help us and was so incredibly lovely. Everyone was so kind and friendly. I would definitely recommend!”

“We found this little cafe tucked away down a side street near our hotel in Manchester, and it turned out to be a great find. With most of the restaurants along Deansgate completely full and queues outside, it was refreshing to stumble across somewhere quieter just a few minutes away. The menu included Turkish eggs, which immediately caught my eye. The dish was served with perfectly cooked eggs, yoghurt, harissa and a blend of spices, and it was absolutely delicious. It was one of those breakfasts that feels both comforting and full of flavour, and easily one of the nicest meals I had during the trip. The food was very well priced, the quality was excellent, and the staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere felt relaxed and personal, very much like a small family-run cafe rather than a busy city chain. I ended up complimenting the chef because the food and service were both spot on. It was a simple breakfast done properly, and exactly the kind of place you hope to find when travelling. A really good hidden gem just off the main stretch, and somewhere I would happily return to next time I’m in Manchester.”

“This is a nice little cafe to stop off at and they do some hearty looking meals, but they didn't have enough vegan options for me, that's all. There was only African looking lady behind the counter there and I thought she could have been a bit quicker really, even though she was nice and helpful and when we left, we said goodbye and she said, thanks and goodbye also. Not very busy, when we went in so the atmosphere was good, as I don't like places that are loud and over-busy, crowded places anyhow. I would go there again, though my partner who I was with, Steven, didn't rate their coffee, that's all. The seating we choose in there, was comfortable enough also.”

“So, I tried their Rossiter's chicken with creamy pasta salad, baked potato, and a wild salad. Overall, everything was good, but I thought the chicken was a bit bland. It was juicy and cooked well, but it didn't have much flavor - it could have used a little salt. The rice, on the other hand, was perfectly seasoned and cooked right. The salad was also really good. The creamy dressing was great, and the salt was added just right. If you're looking for something new and different, I would definitely recommend giving it a try!”
