About Procaffeinated

Procaffeinated is a cafe at 263 Chapel St in Salford that bakes its own sourdough in-house and sells loaves to take home, alongside specialty coffee and a Mediterranean-inspired brunch menu. The coffee is served as espresso or filter, with a choice of bean or roast and oat milk for the flat white. The brunch menu includes a speck and fig dish, and the sourdough goes into sandwiches such as the pesto sun-dried tomato sandwich, with a different special sandwich each month. Chocolate brioche and other pastries are also baked in-house. The drinks list extends past coffee to natural wines, cocktails and craft beers.

Customer Review Summary

Sourdough sandwiches draw the most praise, especially the pesto sun-dried tomato sandwich, which reviewers call delicious, with fresh bread and a strong basil flavour. Others mention a monthly special and a pumpkin puree filling that one diner didn't expect to enjoy. One self-described sourdough hater liked the bread here for not being too sour. Coffee comes close behind, with a strong latte, an oat flat white, a turmeric chai latte and a choice of bean or roast. The chocolate brioche and the speck and fig dish each get individual mentions. Staff are described as friendly, quick to find a seat, and food arrives fast. The complaints are practical. The sandwiches are huge and arrive on small plates that make cutting them awkward, so one reviewer suggests splitting one and asks for bigger plates. Tables sit close together, which made seating a squeeze, and one diner found a cinnamon cake overtaken by a savoury taste. One pair liked their sandwich enough to buy a loaf to take home.

“This place is just 10 out of 10. We love every things here. Their food is just top notch and the quality of the oat flat white is just perfect. Top of my brunch place list really, recommend it to everyone!”

“I absolutely love this place, very surprising because it is just a local cafe in an up and coming stretch of Salford. The service is really pleasant, the food is really good, simple but imaginative and so well presented, the coffee is delicious. It's my second visit and I can't wait to go again. My recommendation speck & fig 🤩”

“Pleasantly surprised by this local cafe, we walked in on a Saturday and was sat at a table quite quickly. The sourdough sandwich was really good that me and my friend decided to buy a loaf to take home. It was relatively busy but service is quick, the only downside was squeezing into seats since the tablets were quite close together. Saw that they have a bench for people who want to use their laptops. Coffee/latte was very strong - oat milk alternatives available. Sandwich was good, I didn’t realise pumpkin puree tasted so good in sandwiches. Will come again.”

“A well deserved visit to the cafe, the staff were friendly and accommodating right off the bat which made the visit worth while before even sitting down. The coffee was very good, it was a top quality brew. You get to choose what kind of bean/roast you prefer which not a lot cafes do that. We tried the pesto sun-dried tomato sandwich and that was delicious no complains. The sourdough bread was fresh. The pesto/basil flavour is on a stronger side but personally preference; I enjoyed it.”

“I can’t recommend this place enough! Such a lovely atmosphere and amazing staff. They had tap water jugs to help yourself too and drinks and food service was so quick. There was plenty of vegetarian options and the food was delicious. Reasonably priced as well.”
