Customer Review Summary
Steak is the dish diners name most, from a Fat Iron steak cooked to perfection to steak and chips that left a whole table very happy with the quality, with the duck close behind. Coffee draws repeat praise too, including a strong, creamy double espresso, an excellent mocha, and a walking group that calls the coffee consistently excellent. Also mentioned are fish and chips with mushy peas, a fish finger sandwich, eggs benedict, avocado toast with smoked salmon, chicken wings, and a vegan cauliflower steak described as tasty and filling. Reviewers describe a beautiful room that feels light and airy, with friendly service even when it is busy. Criticism is mild but specific: one reviewer found the chicken tagliatelle ok but slightly bland, another says food prices run higher than average, and one struggled to get a table because of the crowds. One diner who saw a queue forming outside suggests booking in advance. A guest who arrived late for a booking was welcomed in without any issue, and one reviewer called the ice cream dessert awesome.

“I had a great visit to the Lead Station in Charlton. The fish finger sandwich and chips were really enjoyable, and the mocha was excellent too. A special thank you to Daisy and Lauren for the welcoming, respectful, and friendly service. They made the experience even better. The venue felt accessible, comfortable, and inviting. I'd happily recommend the Lad Station to anyone looking for good food, great coffee, and a warm welcome.”

“Our walking group loves stopping at The Lead Station. The coffee is consistently excellent, and it’s always a great talking point that the building used to be a police station. We recently came back for lunch and were so impressed with the food. We enjoyed the fish and chips with mushy peas and tartar sauce, a delicious eggs benedict, and an avocado toast with poached eggs and smoked salmon, We'll definitely be back for more.”

“Would highly recommend. Visited during the January deal 50% and will definitely be back to pay full price. Struggled to get a table as it was so popular, however, despite the popularity the service was excellent. I had the cauliflower steak which is vegan and it was very tasty and filling. Good choice of drinks too.”
