About The Farmer's Arms
Run by a landlord and landlady with bar staff, The Farmer's Arms is a pub at 51 Simister Ln in Manchester. The bar serves J.W. Lees ales on handpump, with two or three Lees ales on offer, and Guinness is poured as well. Homemade pies make up the food offering and sit alongside the ales as the pub's food choice. It operates as a traditional English local with a community feel, and regulars form part of its crowd.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the welcome, describing a proper, down to earth local with a real community feel, where the landlord, landlady, bar staff and regulars make newcomers feel at home instead of stared at. Beer comes next. Several praise a good pint of Guinness, and one notes two or three Lees ales on handpump in good condition. Food gets less attention. One family arrived with low expectations and found it fantastic, with big portions, and another reviewer says the homemade pies come highly recommended, though they had not yet tried them. The one critical note concerns the food served outside, where a diner got cold biryani in two tiny paper bowls and found a Lees lager labelled craft nothing to rave about. One visitor found it quiet on a Sunday midday but livelier at other times of the week. For one reviewer, the best bit is simply the good Guinness.

“You can tell about a pub by how clean the bathrooms are. Spotless. Good to see. Bar staff really pleasant and there was a nice friendly local in there we chatted to. Didn’t get a chance to try the food. Was quiet when we went midday on a Sunday but seems a lot livelier at other times of the week. Will visit again for sure!”

“This place is amazing, fantastic staff and people who drink there. I have been going to the farmers for many years now, and I just love the place. Highly recommend if you want a cheeky pint and a catch-up with a pal.”
