Customer Review Summary
Steak and eggs is the dish brunch diners name most, with one calling it the most mouth watering steak they have had. Close behind, the new menu draws praise for spam fritters, venison suet pudding, a crab omelette and a Sunday roast with a generous portion, while the strawberries and cream pancakes are called a winner. Staff come across as friendly and efficient, even on a very busy parade day. The atmosphere is described as buzzing and characterful, and the bar offers lots of lager and IPA options. Food criticism is narrower but specific. One reviewer found the beef tomato in the vegan breakfast uncooked, a florentine omelette too herby and sickly, and the falafel burger unappealing, and also called prices high for the area and the place too busy at peak times for quick service. Another found the chicken burger messy and the salad croutons just meh. Live music gets enthusiastic mentions, including an open mic and jam on the third Friday of each month, and even the critical reviewer singled out the hash browns as great.

“Update: New menu has a vegan breakfast and that's about it, 2 stars removed. Okay for beer but pricey for the area and too busy at peak times for quick service. Really nice to see some vegan options here that are exciting, sadly there is room for improvement on the food front, tried the breakfast and while the hash browns were great the uncooked beef tomato in the middle wasn't, probably cheaper and nicer to get 1/4 of a can of peeled plum tomatoes heated up, but overall not bad. However, last time I had a florentine omelette and this had a very odd flavour, texture was interesting but it was so Herby and sickly that it was hard to even eat a small amount. The Strawberries and Cream pancakes are a winner. The staff are lovely, clearly work hard and are doing their best, service is great and the bar is great, lots of lager/IPA options. A nice venue too, they have all sorts of activities on throughout the week and outside seating on or off roadside, quite quirky. Definitely recommend, just want to see food quality improvements Oh and I don't know anyone that would ever want a falafel burger, please just any other option 🙏🏻”

“Been here a few times. Recently visited after the parade and was served really quickly by Emily. They were super friendly and attentive. Food was tasty, though the chicken burger was messy and the salad's croutons were just meh. Otherwise very good. Will still definitely be coming back. Thanks again Emily! And everyone else for working so efficiently on a very busy day.”

“We love Wallop. Any excuse to call in and we’ll take it. The food is always fab, the vibes are immaculate and the team are top notch every single time. Emily and Meisha looked after us today and they were without a doubt incredible as always, nothing is ever too much and they’re always happy to help! Honestly couldn’t reccomend the place enough, 10/10 no notes.”
