Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the back garden with its bowling green, where diners describe sitting in the sun with a pint of bitter or Joey Holts beers. Close behind is the friendly staff and the pub grub, with reviewers calling the food tasty, cooked fresh and good value, and one naming the pies. Several mention that the pub is dog friendly or pet friendly, and live music on Wednesdays and a New Year's Eve night with a buffet get praise. Complaints are few but specific. One reviewer said the landlady was less welcoming about a dog, even though it had been mentioned on the booking, and found the coffee disappointing. Another, visiting on New Year's Eve with a terminally ill friend, was turned away without being served. The Saturday lunch crowd filled the pub quickly because a match was on, yet service stayed quick, and one diner left with a pint at the bowling green in the sun.

“Great pub, they have live music every wednesday, the food is standard Holt's but still good, large inside room with smaller pool darts room and a smaller room for small parties and such. Out the back is the bowling green and outside seating facing north west so sun all afternoon till sunset.”

“I stopped in on New year's eve with a friend. My friend won't be with us much longer as he is suffering from cancer. All we wanted was a small drink to celebrate. However we was turned away with no service. Not happy”
