Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the staff, with bar workers and servers described as friendly, helpful and good at recommending drinks, and one even switching on a TV so a group could watch the football. The beer and cider selection comes close behind, with the Juice Forsyth IPA, a pineapple cider, Delirium and a ginger beer all named as favourites. The steak and ale pie also draws praise, with one reviewer calling it superb and another naming steak pie their favourite bar food. Several describe the historic building and its art and architecture as unique, and the inside as tranquil or calm even though the corner outside is busy. On the downside, one reviewer found the Guinness only average, and another felt two open doors left the room bracingly icy. One visitor noted plenty of outside seating, and a regular says it is always busy. Several reviewers say they plan to return, and one wants to try the fiery brew next time.

“Absolutely wonderful drinks at great prices. Lovely atmosphere! I had the pleasure of being served by Sioned, a lovely Welsh girl like myself which made me feel at home. She was so attentive and sweet, and genuinely made my trip there worth it after a terrible day at work. Thank you Shoned xxx”

“We are only in Manchester for the day and we searched a place to find cider. We arrived at a quiet time and were served by a very kind lady named Sioned (she had to help me spell it) The cider and Belgian beer were tasty and the building is very unique and quite obviously vintage itself. A very nice place to have a pint. Its only a busy corner but the inside is tranquil. The art and architecture make it fascinating to look around. We will be back when we come to Manchester.”

“Popped in The Crown & Kettle after hearing glowing reviews and to get away from the heat on a Friday afternoon. The pub is stunning and the service is second to none, particularly had a good rapport with Desni, whose down to earth Bristolian accent made me feel right at home. Thank you Desni for making a wayward traveller feel comfortable, and I'll definitely have to try the fiery brew next time! Cheers, will be returning :)”
