Quick info
About Mary D's Beamish Bar
Mary D's Beamish Bar is a family-run pub in Manchester, on Grey Mare Ln, and works as a pre- and post-match bar for Manchester City supporters by the stadium. Inside, City memorabilia and themed art share the room with music. Drinks come with crisps and nuts, a food station serves curry, and fish and chips are on the menu. Hot food from the neighbouring chip shop can also be ordered directly into the bar, so a meal reaches the table without anyone leaving the pub. The bar puts plenty of staff on for match days and for concert nights tied to events at Co-op Live. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers describe Mary D's first and foremost as a Manchester City supporters' bar, a pre- and post-match stop where chants, music and a crowd united by one team set the tone. Several call the atmosphere authentic, with simple traditional decor and memorabilia rather than trendy styling. A few say City fans and regulars welcomed first-time visitors like family, and one reviewer credits the staff with keeping everyone looked after. Pints are called fresh and crisp, and beer prices reasonable for a spot so close to the stadium. Food comes up as a secondary draw, with fish and chips and a curry from the food station inside, while one reviewer only ever had crisps and nuts. The complaints are small and come from single reviewers. One concert-night visitor found drinks somewhat pricey, and another says service can be brisk when it is busy, though a third noted plenty of staff and no waiting at the bar. One reviewer ends their visit on the "City" art, which they found impressive.

“shout out to Leanne at the food station inside, thanks much for the curry 🍛 it was bang on and we will sure come back with the little one during the week now it’s going to be open Monday to Friday. Drinks were somewhat pricey but what you expect on a concert night and lots of staff on so no waiting at the bar. Good music..tough to write as a Man U fan but can’t fault it”

“Absolutley worth a visit! I genuinly don't think our first Manchester City game ( against Brentford, May 9. 26) would have been the same without us beeing invited to Mary D's - both before and after the game. It's not just a bar, it's a part of the whole experience! The Atmosphere was amazing, staff did an awesome job- and all the City-supporters who welcomed us like family. Love that! (- and also the fish & chips was 👌) Definitely recommend a visit - I know we will be back 🩵🇧🇻”

“Mary D’s Beamish Bar is the kind of place that feels less like a pub and more like a football ritual. Tucked right by the stadium, it’s best known as a pre- and post-match hub, and on game days it absolutely buzzes—chants, laughter, and that electric anticipation you only get from a crowd united by the same team. The atmosphere is its strongest asset: raw, authentic, and proudly unpolished. Inside, the décor is simple and traditional, with memorabilia and a lived-in charm rather than trendy styling. Drinks are straightforward and reasonably priced, especially considering the location. Don’t expect craft cocktails or a gourmet menu—the focus here is pints, conversation, and matchday spirit. Service can be brisk when it’s busy, but that’s part of the experience; staff keep things moving and the crowd usually brings the energy anyway. On quieter days, it’s a friendly local with a welcoming feel, where regulars chat easily with newcomers. Overall: If you want a glossy gastropub, this isn’t it. But if you want a genuine, character-filled football pub with atmosphere you can practically sing along to, Mary D’s is hard to beat.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Proper Manchester City Supporters Experience Mary D’s is everything a City fan could ask for and more. The atmosphere is incredible — full of energy, passion, and proper football spirit. Whether it’s match day or just a casual visit, you feel part of something special the moment you walk in. The staff do a brilliant job of keeping everyone safe and looked after, creating an environment where fans can enjoy themselves without worry. The beer prices are refreshingly reasonable too, which is rare these days, especially so close to the stadium. If you’re a City supporter, Mary D’s isn’t just a bar — it’s part of the experience. Highly recommended and absolutely worth a visit.”
