About The Townley
The Townley is a pub at 31 Albert St in Manchester, about a five-minute walk from the Etihad along a footpath by the houses. It serves as a pre-match stop for Manchester City games, with City memorabilia on display inside. The pub also takes in drinkers before a gig or after a show around Co-op Live. Food is pies only. Match days fill the pub, and seats go to those who arrive early. It is open daily.

Customer Review Summary
The Townley draws reviewers most as a pre-match pint stop for Manchester City games, with several describing a calm crowd and a busy match-day atmosphere, and one noting no hooligans. Its position a short walk from the Etihad also makes it a pre-gig and post-concert drink for Co-op Live visitors, and one reviewer praises staff for making sure people got taxis back to their hotels. Close behind are friendly bartenders and locals, cheap beer and wine, and walls full of City memorabilia. One reviewer was disappointed that there is no hand-pumped beer, another says the toilets aren't great, and pies are the only food on offer. A visiting supporter advises against wearing away colours, though they chatted with home fans without any issues. One first-time EPL visitor says it got really packed as kickoff neared, and suggests arriving early for a seat, yet still found it easy to get a beer.

“Nice pub a stones throw from the Etihad, went for a post show drink and to let the traffic calm down before booking a taxi, staff super friendly, witnessed them making sure people were able to get taxis and get back to their hotels safely. Fantastic staff. Had a drink then walked up to the main road to get a taxi. Would definitely come back before and after a concert.”
