About Jimmy's Manchester
Jimmy's Manchester is a rock 'n' roll bar in Ancoats, Manchester, set in a red-brick building at 27 Blossom St. The kitchen is run by resident food provider Wholesome Junkies, which serves a fully vegan menu. The bar is rock-themed, with neon signs and rock music, and its own-brand beers include a honeycomb beer. Upstairs, a live music venue has its own separate bar and takes bookings for private parties and events, which suits groups. Guests can also put on their own music or playlist through the sound system. Rock n roll bingo nights sell tickets online, and seating is unreserved.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the upstairs room as an events space, describing a university reunion with a friend's DJ set, a birthday party hosted free of charge, live music, a one-man play and rock n roll bingo with free shots for winners. Food and drink sit close behind, with the prawn platter and seafood platter praised, the vegan dishes from the resident kitchen called very good, and the honeycomb beer singled out. The square out front is liked for sitting outside with a pint. Complaints are fewer but specific. One reviewer found a Guinness badly poured and a Wednesday night short on atmosphere, another says the ventilation leaves clothes smelling of fish, and one notes the beer is all own brand. A vegetarian guest found the fully vegan kitchen a bit limiting for a party. One dog owner describes staff bringing out a water bowl for their dogs.

“Came for a few pints after work. Nice little square with a summery atmosphere. Fills up quite quickly post 5pm. Beer selection was okay but all own brand. Nice place to spend an afternoon.”

“Watched a one-man play there this week. Superb venue, really friendly and down to earth. And the honeycomb beer is great! England were playing too, and the weather was good so it was nice being able to sit and drink on the square out front.”

“I had a Uni reunion on Saturday in the upstairs room at Jimmy's. It was the perfect spot. We were quite a small group, so not sure of capacity, but we had loads of space. We used our own Spotify playlist and also had a friend do DJ set...speakers and sound were great and we all had a good dance. The bar team were brilliant, and we had separate bar upstairs. We had food from the resident food providers in Jimmy's kitchen, which was Wholesome Junkies. The food team were very flexible on timings. The only slight downside were that Wholesome Junkies are fully Vegan. Am a veggie myself, so no real issues, but felt that was a bit limiting for a party. However the Vegan food was very good, and I understand the resident company in the kitchen will change at end Jan as part of normal procedures. I would highly recommend Jimmy's for a private party.”

“We visit very often. Great prawn platter, great seafood platter. I have not really tried the meat here so I cannot comment. Service is great, very attentive and friendly. Food arrives rather quickly. The only downside is that your clothes might smell like fish because the ventilation is not great”

“Jimmy's hosted my 30th birthday free of charge/no minimum spend- I'm blown away by the generosity and attentiveness. Everything was perfect- food, drinks, staff, set up. The atmosphere was great and felt like such a cool place to have a party. We had an amazing time and made some great memories. I would recommend to anyone and everyone. Thank you so much!”
