About Barley Farm - Dining & Carvery

Barley Farm - Dining & Carvery is a pub on Stadium Wy in Manchester, next door to the AJ Bell Stadium. The carvery and Sunday roast are served seven days a week, so a roast dinner is available on any visit, and the carvery includes a small plate option. A buffet breakfast covers the morning, with a bubble n squeak sausage in place of a veggie sausage. The wider menu runs to pub classics, including a mixed grill, and the kitchen makes its own cakes and desserts. Gluten free and vegan options are listed too. An indoor play area gives children something to do while adults eat. Parking spaces are plentiful, and coach parking lets larger groups arrive together.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers return most for the Sunday roast and carvery, with one describing meats that were not dry and vegetables kept fresh by chefs topping them up, and another praising a small-plate carvery. Close behind are the puddings, where the Mars cake draws comment for its size, and the desserts are called a 10/10 by one diner. The buffet breakfast is described as fresh and hot, and a mixed grill and steak, lasagna and pie also get mentions. Several say the staff are friendly and helpful, with the floor team clearing tables and checking on food, and a few point to the manager and servers making them feel welcome. Reviewers also single out gluten free and vegan options. The one criticism comes from a vegetarian who would have preferred a Quorn type sausage to the bubble n squeak version at breakfast. One diner says the food still came out quickly even with the carvery closing within the hour, and another says staff were helpful even after a mistake with an online order.

“Lovely place for breakfast before a match at the CorpAcq. Really great service from Yvonne (sorry if the spelling is wrong!) who was really lovely and attentive. Will definitely come back if we’re down here for a game again.”

“Nice busy Sunday evening, service was great and Sunday roast top form, meats where not dry and veg was fresh, you could see chefs topping up and adding drizzle on veg to keep them from drying out. The team on the floor clearing, doing food checks and working as a team. Loved it. Sorry no photos as i finished all my food. So thank you for lovely dinner :)”

“Excellent buffet breakfast, food was fresh and hot and the staff were fab, really helpful and friendly. Standouts were Laura and Zak, absolutely lovely and very helpful staff. Only one downside, being a veggie, would have preferred a Quorn type sausage over a bubble n squeak version.”
