About The Blue Bell

The Blue Bell is a pub and restaurant at 41 Monton Grn in Monton, Manchester. Its Sunday roast comes with bottomless Yorkshire puddings and unlimited gravy, and a roast sharer and a gluten free option sit on the Sunday lunch menu too. Breakfast is served as well, with eggs Benedict and a full cooked breakfast on offer. The bar stocks cask ale, wine and gin, and coffee from Paddy & Scott's is poured to go with pudding. A recent refurbishment updated the building while keeping the character of the pub. The Blue Bell also hosts a quiz night.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers return most for the staff, described repeatedly as welcoming, friendly and helpful, with several saying their server could not do enough for them. Food comes close behind. One diner calls the Brewery Tower Burger seriously substantial and very tasty, another praises the eggs Benedict and a huge full cooked breakfast, and another calls the roast sharer stunning. Drinks get mentioned too, including a pint of JW Lees Original Lager followed by the Phoenix Glow white chocolate stout, and several describe prices as reasonable for the quality. One reviewer says a recent refurbishment kept the character while looking more modern. The one criticism is the outside, which a reviewer says needs painting and looks less inviting than it could. A few add that the beer garden is great and that they bring their dog. One diner had a gluten free Sunday lunch made for Father's Day, then came back on Thursday for a fun quiz night.

“Visiting family after our holiday and we always meet up in the Blue Bell. Recently refurbished it was a nice surprise to our visit. The refit retained the character while looking more stylish and modern. Service was excellent from the bar staff and the range of drinks on offer was really very good. Our visit didn't include food on this occasion but can't wait to come back and try.”

“Really enjoyable visit to the Blue Bell in Monton. The staff were genuinely pleasant and welcoming from the moment I arrived, and the whole place had a relaxed, friendly feel to it. I went for the Brewery Tower Burger, which definitely lived up to its name — a seriously substantial burger and very tasty. Washed it down with a pint of JW Lees Original Lager followed by the Phoenix Glow white chocolate stout, which was something a little different and well worth trying. Prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion size, the beers were good and the service was excellent throughout. Good food, good beer, sensible prices and lovely staff. Exactly what you want from a proper pub. I’ll definitely be back.”

“Lovely pub! Great beer garden, food is decent for a pub lunch, nice atmosphere. Highly recommend we always come back. Great value for money. Been twice recently, for Father’s Day lovey sunday lunch which they made gluten free and we came again on Thursday for quiz night which was fun. Love bringing our dog here and all our friends when they visit us.”

Good to know

“Pub & Restaurant in Monton, the Blue Bell is easily accessible from the motorway and close to the Trafford Centre. Comfortable surroundings and a cosy choice of spots around the pub makes the Blue Bell perfect for visiting this season. Our bar is stocked for cask ale enthusiasts, fine wine drinkers and gin lovers, and our slow roasted coffees from Paddy & Scott’s are perfect with a pudding. Unbeatable Sunday roast with bottomless Yorkshire puddings and unlimited gravy. We think we serve the best Sunday roast in the area, but there’s only one way for you to find out… Variety of dog friendly spots in the restaurant perfect for you to relax with your four legged friend, plus a patio area to the front of the pub to soak up some sun”
