About Nón - Vietnamese restaurant
Nón is a Vietnamese restaurant at 39 Holloway Rd in London, a short way from Highbury & Islington station. It is vegan-friendly and serves a meal before Emirates games or events at the Garage. Pho comes with rice noodles and broth, and Bun Cha Hanoi pairs grilled pork with a dipping bowl of nước chấm. Tofu with aubergine rice gives vegetarians a main of their own. The kitchen cooks both authentic and adapted Vietnamese dishes, so the menu suits diners who want traditional flavours as well as those who prefer a more familiar take.

Customer Review Summary
Pho is what reviewers return to most, with diners praising the generous rice noodles and a broth one calls "to die for," and another naming it the best they have had in London. Close behind are the Bun Cha Hanoi, served with a proper dipping bowl of nước chấm and grilled pork, the grilled chicken rice noodles, spring rolls, garlic chips, egg fried rice and the tofu with aubergine rice, which a vegetarian called fantastic. Reviewers also single out the iced coffee and the mojito, and describe the staff as friendly and helpful, one group booking a table for fifteen to celebrate Lunar New Year. The criticism is specific: one reviewer found the noodles like cup noodles made in a pan, the omelette unseasoned with a strong odour, and the ribeye well done with uncut fat. Another found the monkfish overcooked and dry and the seating close to other parties. One reviewer wished the bun cha came with more herbs, and a server who accommodated a request for a spicy base left a diner pleased.

“Life changing, popped in a 40 minutes before close had the best pho I’ve had in London so far. So flavourful and warm, I got the stir fry beef and asked for a spicy base which they ever so nicely did. The ingredients were fresh, beef high quality, and the servers were lovely. Definitely will be visiting again. Also £12 pho sign me up”

“Loveeeeeee this place!! The pho was so delicious, very generous with the rice noodles and the broth was to die for, I wish I can buy and take it home!! I’d come back again for the pho!”

“One of the best Vietnamese restaurants in town. Not many places do a proper Bun Cha Hanoi. Not a sad under-dressed noodle salad like most places. Here you get a proper dipping bowl of Nước chấm with grilled pork. I do wish it came with more herbs though.”

“Not impressed - the noodles felt like cup noodles made in a pan. The omelette had no seasoning and the omelette had a strong odour. The ribeye was well done and fat was not cut cleanly from a lot of the pieces. It felt like a cheaper meal”

“Lovely, personally not a big Vietnamese pho noodle soup person but came here hoping to have my mind changed. Didn't quite do that for me but was better than others I've had! The garlic chips are super yummy and so is the mojito. My partner said the egg fried rice is the best he's ever had. Will definitely be coming back.”
