About The Ivy Asia St Paul's

The Ivy Asia St Paul's is an Asian restaurant in London at 20 New Change, with a dining room that looks out to St Paul's Cathedral. The room has a green floor and a high ceiling, so the view and the setting are part of the meal for groups and couples alike. The kitchen cooks dishes inspired by Asian cuisine, and a tasting menu is offered, with a vegetarian tasting menu alongside it. Cocktails and other drinks are served into the late-night hours, which makes it a stop for an evening that runs on after dinner. Guests who prefer not to sit at a table can take a seat at the bar.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often return to the setting: a stunning room with a green floor, high ceiling, vibrant decor and a view of St Paul's Cathedral, plus a buzzing atmosphere that suits birthdays and celebrations. On the plate, the Roasted Aubergine with miso glaze and the Spiced Avocado Crudo draw the strongest praise, with the mushroom gyoza, the crisp Gochujang chicken and the Golden Dragon dessert close behind. Servers and bar staff are repeatedly described as friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The food itself divides opinion. Some call it good but only average for the prices, one regular feels the kitchen's standards have slipped, and another found the promised truffle and wasabi on the tuna sashimi too subtle. A few mention smaller portions, long waits between some dishes, a staff member who sounded rude when an order was placed, and a server who vanished at a shift change. One diner on the tasting menu was told a prawn dish could not be swapped for a vegetarian one, though the table later received an extra mochi dessert for a graduation.

“I recently booked a table at Ivy asia in St Paul’s, and what an amazing experience it was. Being the first Ivy asia in the UK, the place has such a unique atmosphere and really stands out. We were lucky enough to meet Kenny, one of the managers, who previously worked at another restaurant within the same group and has recently joined the St Paul’s team. He is such a lovely, welcoming gentleman and made us feel so comfortable from the moment we arrived. Thank you so much, Kenny, for arranging such a beautiful table and for taking such good care of us throughout the evening. Your hospitality truly made a difference. My friend and I had a fantastic dinner, enjoyed great food, lots of laughter, and simply had a wonderful time together. The location was perfect, the atmosphere was incredible, and the food was excellent. And the service? Absolutely exceptional 100%! 👏 Thank you to the whole team at ivy asia for such a memorable evening. We loved every moment and will definitely be coming back. ❤️🥂✨”

“Had two great dinners here during a business trip to London. Both times I sat at the bar and I was looked after by the amazing Riccardo. His attentive service was just great and always done with a smile on his face. The food was so good but the thing that makes it even better is the service by someone like Riccardo. Will definitely be back. 10/10 Ed”

“We went to Ivy Asia St Paul’s to celebrate my father in law’s birthday and had a great time! The atmosphere & the service was second to none. Marcos, who was our waiter for the evening, did everything we could to make sure we really enjoyed this special occasion - especially by making drinks flow. The venue itself might nit be a quiet one, both when it comes to decor and music, but I think it works perfect with the concept of the restaurant. In my mind it’s a great place to spend a great evening and celebrate something special. The food is probably it’s weakest point, but still enjoyable. Will definitely come back in the future.”

“Went there for mums birthday, was fantastic! Food was tasty and well prepared, the vibes inside were immaculate and most importantly, the prices aren't extortionate! Big shout out to staff member Juri, excellent lad and super understanding and kind! Also the Golden Dragon dessert is well worth it!”

“We almost missed out on dining at The Ivy Asia St. Paul's because we didn't reserve early enough, good thing we were able to come back the following evening. The venue is absolutely beautiful with the green floor and the high ceiling. The backdrop of St. Paul's Cathedral is gorgeous. The food is good, but expect to pay a bit more for the setting. One small suggestion: let patrons know who their new server is during a shift change. We waited quite a while after our initial server was nowhere to be found, until the wonderful Omar stepped in to help us. He was fantastic. Overall, our experience at The Ivy was great, and I'll definitely be back again. Side note: What's up with that Samurai in the bathroom looking at me...?”
