About Where's Fred's
Where's Fred's is a coffee and wine bar at 7 Frederick's Place in London, set in a quiet courtyard near Bank station. It opens Monday to Friday and closes on Saturdays and Sundays, so it works as a weekday stop for a morning coffee or a brunch. Coffee comes from Origin Coffee Roasters and is poured as flat whites and lattes, and smoothies are on the drinks list too. The brunch menu includes a truffle egg croissant and a feta shakshuka, with poached eggs also on offer. For something sweeter, the loaded banana bread comes with yoghurt, fruit and honey. Bistro-style tables fill the room.

Customer Review Summary
The caveats are mostly about the food and the pace. One reviewer found the leek and mushroom risotto a bit tasteless and needed salt, another called the feta shakshuka nothing special with small portions, and another found the coffee too bitter and the poached eggs muffin could use more sauce. Several note it gets busy, especially on weekday mornings, and one suggests making a reservation in advance. One early arrival was asked to wait five minutes past the 7:30 opening before being seated.

“Was searching for a breakfast place for early breakfast in city with my wife this place came up in search of… we arrived just at opening 7:30 and were asked to come in 5 min - this would be enough for me to leave but my wife convinced me to stay. Once seated the service was attentive and kind, were offered water and ordered food. Poached eggs with bacon for me wife and salmon and lumpfish caviar for me. The food was excellent - don’t remember to have better poached eggs … nicely formed but runny in the middle, muffin crispy but soft inside - could do with a bit more sauce but overall fine dining quality … I was not fond of coffee too bitter for me, but tea that my wife ordered was nicely served and good. Place had a lot of reservations on the table and got busy quickly. Tables are bistro styled some with high chairs but generally comfortable, you can also watch chef at work what is a welcomed bonus for me.”

“Come for the delish brunch, stay for the evil evil corporate crowd inside (half joking, place is sick) Felt bougie in a nice way, recommend the smoothies !!! Lovely eggs, poached to perfection. Tucked away, small but not crowded, felt modern. We stopped here on our way to the Barbican. Loved it there.”

“Cute place with small portions. I got the feta shakshuka; food is normal, nothing too special, but good. It gets super busy on weekday mornings, so make a reservation in advance.”

“Popped into Where’s Fred on the way to a work thing and was pleasantly surprised to find they’re serving Origin Coffee. Flat white was spot on, and the coffee even better. Longtime Origin customer and they still impress.”
