  “Lovely experience for a quick weekday lunch at Bar Duoro. They have online menu scan via QR code, and payment through that as well. Staff friendly and would recommend dishes. We sat outside as we had a pram and limited space inside. No high chair was available for baby. Food was pretty decent, we really liked the potato fish dish. The octopus salad was refreshing. Was not too impressed with the rabbit even through meat was soft it was nothing special. Overall pleasant experience.”

  “We had a lovely dinner at Bar Douro. The customer service is amazing and the food is delicious. We ordered had the sausage croquettes which were amazing. The Acorn-fed Black Pig and Octopus Salad were also delicious. The Garlic Prawns sauce is amazing definitely recommend getting bread to have with the sauce. The Grilled Flat Iron Steak in Mustard Sauce has such a unique amazing flavour. For dessert we had the Pineapple Cake & Egg Yolk Pudding.”

  “Pretty good restaurant! I went for a small birthday celebration, and the staff was sweet enough to help with the candle, which I really appreciated. I definitely recommend the tasting menu, and the dessert is hands down the best pastel de nata I’ve ever had!”

  “Super tasty food. If you love sharing delicious tapas style food with friends then this is a great place to go. Can sit inside or out, both are nice. Definitely recommend booking on busy evenings.”

  “We throughly enjoyed the food. Immaculate flavours. We ordered: Salt Cod Fritters, Grilled Asparagus, Grilled Aubergine, Garlic Prawns, Garlic Potatoes. Dessert: chocolate mousse and Abade de priscos. Everything was truly 10/10.”

  “Another fave to add to the list. Portuguese small sharing plates @Bar Douro City in Liverpool Street. No disappointing dishes here. Every plate that came out was tasty, with great flavours that were well balanced. The cured meat was flavourful and the Bacalhau (one of my favourite Portuguese dishes) was the best one I have tried. The marinated mackerel was delicious and the rabbit fell off the bone. Great service and reasonably priced. Definitely recommend! #portuguesefood #liverpoolstreet #london #foodtok #foodie”

  “Booked wine tasting (PICOTES), Lovely wine 👌. My favourite was Palhete. Thanks Antonio and wife (wine producers ) However the experience was somewhat marred -here’s why …It would have been so much better if - -I didn’t have to share olive oil with strangers who ‘double dip’ the bread. Saliva is a primary method of the spread of disease ! -I didn’t have to act like a hungry savage to claim some portion of the snacks out on the table ; meaning I had minimal amounts of snacks while my neighbours enjoyed a healthy helping- as nice as they were . -The seating was poorly arranged near the door meaning other customers not attending the wine tasting were coming and going in front of Antonio and disturbed the experience . It would have been better to sit us near the back. (Airbrushed ppl out who were facing the camera )”

  “I like Bar Douro but food was a little uneven on our last visit. Lovely atmosphere with the blue and white tiled mural. Tables a good distance apart, so quite quiet. Red house wine was a reasonable £32 a bottle. We ordered a few dishes to share. Our pestico of smoked sausage croquette was delicious. Very smokey, and a lovely flakey texture with a tiny dot of mayo and not at all greasy despite being deep fried. The second to arrive was bacalhau a bras. It is my favourite salt cod dish but the fish was a little too sturdy for my taste. I prefer it when it is soft and falling apart. Flavour balance with sliced olives was good. Texture of the fried matchstick potatoes was excellent. Prawns were unfortunately a disappointment. It was great that they were peeled but the heads left on. The sauce was strangely bitter but I couldn't identify the cause. Too much brandy? Garlic that caught and burnt? A shrimp that didn't get properly de-veined? When a waitress asked if I wanted bread to mop up the sauce I told her I didn't actually like the bitterness of the sauce. It was good that everyone in the kitchen did taste the sauce on my plate and agreed that it was bitter. The waiter kindly removed it from the bill, and the cook by way of apology brought us two nata tarts wrapped in tin foil to take home. Very gracious. The rice with wild mushroom was tasty. However, my companion who is a stickler about food temperature complained that it was not served hot enough. Our last course of bavette steak ordered medium rare was excellent. Very tender, so expertly cooked and cut against the grain. Accompanying mustard was slightly sweet with the addition of fortified wine. Garnished with fried matchstick potatoes. I've enjoyed Bar Douro in the past, so will return. Hopefully food will be up to their usual standard.”

  “I am so pleased I decided to try this place out. I went about 2.30 pm on a Saturday and I was very pleased that it was not busy. The restaurant is not big at all and the decor is lovely. The idea of sharing plates works so well, and everything I ordered I was blown away by the flavours and freshness. I think I had the best mackerel I've ever had there! The octopus salad was a nice surprise, and the pig neck was cooked to perfection. I was so surprised by the quality of everything that when the bill came, I expected it to be more expensive. It was worth every penny! I will definitely be back!”

  “This cute little restaurant serves some pretty tasty dishes. Particularly enjoyed the mackerel salad, garlic prawns, salted cod hash and the black pig dishes. These were the stand out dishes of the evening. Great table service as well from the male Asian waiter (sorry we didn't manage to find out this name). He was great with his knowledge of the menu and spot on with his recommendations.”
