About HAZ Finsbury Square
HAZ Finsbury Square is a Turkish restaurant and bar at 14 Finsbury Square in London, first established in 2001. The kitchen cooks modern Mediterranean food with a focus on grilling, and Iskender is among the mains. Calamari appears among the starters, and kazandibi is on the dessert menu. A cocktail list runs alongside the food at the bar. The restaurant opens daily and serves dinner late into the night. Private dining rooms take group bookings for birthday dinners and events.

Customer Review Summary
Private dining rooms and group celebrations anchor the praise. Reviewers describe a wedding reception dinner, a 40th birthday for 24 guests, and two friends' birthday dinners, with one couple allowed to decorate their room themselves. Among the food, the Iskender with its generous portion and the calamari starter stand out, close behind the lamb köfte, lamb shank and mixed grill. Desserts earn credit too, including a crème brûlée described as almost like a soufflé and a baklava with rich pistachio flavor, alongside espresso with a Turkish-coffee taste. Cocktails are praised, and one table with gluten free and vegan diners and a child found plenty of choice. The main complaint comes from one late-night diner whose lamb köfte was tough and hard to chew, and who was also unhappy to find a cover charge added on top of VAT and service charge. Another reviewer calls the chicken dish a tad pricey. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly, and one server handled a party of 20 alone.

“the food and cocktails was so good!! everyone around the table had plenty of choice considering a gluten free and vegan diet needed to be catered for alongside another vegan and a child which meant that the whole experience was just so enjoyable and worry free :))”

“We held our wedding reception dinner at Haz Restaurant, and I couldn't have been happier with our experience. From the very beginning, when I first made my enquiry, the team were incredibly helpful, supportive and responsive. Communication throughout the planning process was excellent, and they were always accommodating and happy to answer any questions we had. We booked one of their private dining rooms, and they kindly allowed us to decorate the space ourselves, which made it feel so personal and special for our celebration. A special thank you to Kan, who was absolutely amazing, along with the rest of the team. Their professionalism, kindness and attention to detail helped everything run so smoothly, allowing us to simply enjoy our day with our family and friends. The food, service and overall experience were fantastic, and I'm so pleased we chose Haz Restaurant for our wedding reception. Thank you all for helping make our special day so memorable. I would highly recommend Haz to anyone looking for a venue with exceptional service and a wonderful team.”

“Gulcin was our server. She was amazing in serving our food and drinks. She served a party of 20 by herself, was friendly, warm and efficient. Her service made the whole experience 10/10. Lamb shank was delicious and the crème brûlée”

“We had the private room for a 40th Birthday dinner celebration and everything was done perfectly. Service was curated, amazing and spaced very well. The Manager, the head bartender and the lovely waitress looked after our entire group of 24 so well, it's no wonder we keep coming back. I recommend it for any event or even just drinks and bites with your nearest and dearest.”
