  “We did cocoro for take away. the katsudon was not great. The meat was tough and seems to be of mediocre quality. The oyakodon was serviceable not nothing special not my favorite. We also got the yakitori which was good. My favorite part was the mochi ice cream which was a winner. Very flavorful and well proportioned. Probably would not return. Service seemed nice enough but busy and scattered.”

  “All the hype on Tiktok is really really not worth it people. I ordered their food online, and was really anticipating. I got the salmon sashimi, crunchy salmon roll, and salmon temaki. ALL OF THE SALMON was very very gamey and fishy. If you have eaten sushi for a while you would know theres section of the salmon that has a dark brown red color. It may be safe to eat, but all the sushi place cut it out because the it is very gamey, fishy, and unappealing. Yes, all the pieces they gave me were like that, even the sashimi. It was super chewy and hard to bite into. And it is so stupid because you are eating a temaki, you need to be able to bite. Here I am trying to bite off the piece of salmon and ended up ruining my whole roll. That is not even to consider the avocado was rotten, and the rice is way too mushy for sushi. I am not even a sushi expert, and it has already been this bad. Mind you the price of their dishes is not cheap at all. It is like they dont respect customers or our money. I have never been so pissed that I need to write such a long review. Choose to go or not as you wish.”

  “Very good Japanese restaurant. Very much to our expectations. We came to celebrate family event and we all enjoyed. Small restaurant, with Japanese style tables downstairs and European on the ground floor. We were downstairs and enjoyed. All food is good. Yellow tale collar was outstanding as well as ramen and wagu beef. Deserts - must have.”

  “I am beyond disappointed. As a loyal customer who has visited this restaurant 5 or 6 times, I was shocked by the hostile treatment we received last night on the ground floor (around 7:50PM). We were served by a young Asian female staff member with no glasses and no bangs. When we politely inquired about student discounts and mentioned the discretionary nature of the service charge, a standard legal right in the UK, her professionalism vanished. She didn't just disagree; she became aggressive. She threw the bill onto our table with zero respect. While we were paying, she actually started "lecturing" us, arrogantly claiming: "Next time you must pay the service charge, no other customers act like you." It is incredibly ironic that she demanded a "service charge" while providing the most unprofessional service I have ever experienced in London. We remained polite and said "Thank you" after the transaction, but she simply ignored us and walked off with the card machine in a huff. I have Live Photos of my previous 5 visits, proving my loyalty to this place, but after being treated like this, I will not be returning. Truly a shame.”

  “Ah, nostalgia. As I grow older, I think back to what life used to be like. Before the internet. Before mobile phones. And before the food scene in London became as international as it is today. At one point, ramen was an exotic food that I had to enjoy on overseas holidays In those days, Cocoro was one of the few places I could get decent ramen in London. Since then, multiple independent and international restaurants fasting up offering ramen However, I do still love Cocoro’s tonkotsu ramen almost the best. It has a satisfying mouth feel with deep rich porky flavour. You can get different meat topping but I tend to stick with the traditional Japanese chashu Cocoro also offers the full range of Japanese dishes and I usually get some sushi/sashimi to go with my meal You’re always sure of a warm greeting as you enter. Sadly, the Japanese toilet is no longer there - Cocoro was the first place I saw one of these. They also sell a small selection of Japanese wares”

  “First time dropping in. The menu is huge with so many starters, mains and desserts to choose from. The salmon don was very yummy! Would recommend! Definitely a strong contender for a quick lunch near Marylebone and Bond street!”

  “Cocoro is one of the better Japanese restaurants in London, serving mid priced izakaya style dishes in a setting that gives a pleasant “little Japan” atmosphere.The menu is extensive, with plenty of choices. Prices are reasonable for London. Fish of the Day Chef’s Special This set came with 8 pieces of nigiri and 6 salmon rolls. The fish was fresh and the sushi rice was nicely formed, firm and not falling apart. Overall very enjoyable and satisfying. Ebi Ten Don This is a very common dish in Japan but surprisingly not available at every Japanese restaurant in the UK, so I ordered it as soon as I spotted it. The bowl came with five large tempura prawns. Even after the sauce was poured over, the batter remained crispy and fragrant. The rice with the sweet savory tendon sauce was very comforting and delicious. Definitely recommended, I would happily order it again. Tonkotsu Ramen The portion of soup was a bit excessive, which ended up submerging the noodles, chashu pork and egg. The tonkotsu broth was decent but not particularly memorable. The thick slices of chashu helped improve the dish, but overall the presentation and flavour were slightly below the standard of a specialist ramen shop. Sukiyaki Perfect for a cold winter evening. The Sukiyaki is cooked at the table and includes a generous mix of ingredients: tofu, mushrooms, glass noodles, spring onions, napa cabbage and carrots, all simmered in a rich sweet savory sukiyaki sauce. The aroma was wonderful and very appetising. You can choose British beef, pork or wagyu. The British beef looked good and tasted decent. Traditionally the ingredients are dipped in raw egg before eating.The sukiyaki portion is designed for two people and is very generous. At the end you can add either rice or udon to finish the meal , we chose udon and were completely full by the end. The Japanese desserts looked very tempting as well, but unfortunately we were too full to try them. Will definitely leave room for dessert next time.”

  “Really disappointed with our experience here. We ordered the £118 hot pot set labelled “for 2”, which very clearly looks like £118 for two people in total. The single-person options are marked “p.p.”, so naturally we understood “for 2” to mean a set for two. Only when the bill arrived did we realise we were being charged £118 per person. What made this worse is that no one explained this when we ordered. There was plenty of opportunity to clarify, especially given how easy it is to misunderstand. Had we known it was per person, we absolutely would not have ordered it. It honestly feels misleading. At this price point, transparency is the bare minimum. Instead, we were left shocked at checkout. If you’re planning to dine here, double-check every price before ordering.”

  “Very cute Japanese restaurant! The food was excellent, and it felt truly authentic. I'm always on the lookout for great Gyoza and the starter here didn't disappoint, very tasty. I had Steak, which was cooked just like you expect in Japan. My partner had Katsudon, which was also amazing! We will definitely be returning.”

  “I see why they’re a Michelin star restaurant! The delicious food, the calm atmosphere, the helpful workers. It’s all deserved. I’m definitely coming back here! My friends and I ordered the British Beef Hot Pot for £40 Per person and it was so tasty! It had vegetables 🥬, vermicelli noodles 🍜 and tofu with it and let me tell you - WE FINISHED IT ALL! We were full but it wasn’t that uncomfortable full (ironic). Even though there were noodles inside the hotpot, it also came with a bowl of rice 🍚 each. The service was nice, the women were more attentive and went into full detail with their answers to our questions. The man who served us was also helpful, I think he was just really busy and had to rush around which I understand 😊 I recommend booking for this place as it’s known. In the end the food is really tasty! 5/5 ⭐️”
