“We had a good experience at Hot Stone London overall. The value was great initially, although booking was a little inconvenient as tables are limited to a maximum of 4 people. We added the aperitif, oysters and wagyu upgrade, but I wouldn’t recommend the wagyu — the portion was small, quite stringy and didn’t feel worth the significant extra cost. Service was a little slow, although the restaurant was very busy. My bento box was also damaged, but the food itself was delicious. The sushi was definitely the highlight, and I loved the variety of dishes. If ordering the butter roll, I’d suggest just going for that rather than trying one of each like we did. The wine pairing was excellent and matched the food really well. The ambience wasn’t particularly impressive at first glance, and the tables are quite close together, but once settled it did have a nice Asian-inspired atmosphere. Overall, I’d recommend visiting for the food, especially the sushi.”

“Came for my girlfriend’s birthday and got the premium grand sharing menu. The food was top notch! Special mention to the seared premium fatty tuna sashimi and the seared salmon sashimi! The flavours and freshness were incredible! Staff were friendly and helpful.”

“Hot Stone was a really lovely place! I had been excited to eat here with my friends after hearing so much about it and visiting Rai Restaurant. We went for the Grand Sharing menu which did not disappoint. The quality of the Wagyu was exceptional and we were given great service especially telling us about the various fish that we were being served. This made the experience more fun, pleasant and immersive. The food was delicious. Besides a slightly late start for my one friend who did not eat beef the experience was amazing!”

“Bought a 5 course deal and drinks pairing a while back and visited this weekend and this was fantastic. We went for the las lunch seating on a Saturday at 2pm. The quality of ingredients were fantastic and the value for money on the deal was unreal. Would absolutely come here again. The fish was off the highest quality as was the wagyu and the hot stone experience was good fun. We got the add on of the fatty tuna for another course which melted in your mouth and was fantastic. Service was a tad slow but its almost not worth mentioning given there were 5 courses it was actually nice to have a break inbetween. The amount of food provided was fantastic, and ambiance a nice low lit dining area quite a small and intimate space, woild highly recommend”

“Service was good. We ordered quite a few raw things to cook on the hot stone including these massive prawns. A downside for me was the lack of seasonings to accompany the things you cook on the hot stone. We got salt, pepper and soy sauce. Would’ve appreciated some garlic, chillis or other bits to add a bit more flavour. The wagyu steak was really nice. Very buttery and delicious… the scallops were nice. But a few more things to add flavour would’ve made it a lot better. I have a feeling that I would’ve preferred the hot menu. I’d go again and try the hot menu.”

Customer Review Summary
Most reviewers come for the multi-course set menus, especially the wagyu cooked on the hot stone, which diners describe as tender, buttery and good fun. Close behind is the sushi and sashimi, with the seared fatty tuna and seared salmon singled out as fresh. Several praise the generous portions and the value of the promotional set menus and wine pairing, and staff who explained the dishes. The recurring complaint is slow service between courses, though one reviewer found the pause welcome. Individual criticisms are specific: one found the wagyu upgrade small and stringy for the extra cost, another wanted garlic or chillis beyond salt, pepper and soy sauce for the stone-cooked prawns and scallops, and one mentions a damaged bento box. Tables are close together and limited to four people. One reviewer noted a server picking up a dropped pair of chopsticks before being asked.
